Has anyone stayed at the Anaheim Majestic Gardens and walked to Disneyland and/or Downtown Disney? I’m trying to figure out if it’s a realistic thing to plan on doing for our 3 night trip in July. No young children or older folks in our group, and we are used to long treks at WDW. We know there is a shuttle, would just rather have the option of walking if it’s full or we don’t want to wait around for the next one.

We’re also looking at Candy Cane Inn or Desert Palms, which I know are much closer and an easier walk, but I really like the theming and price of Majestic Gardens.

Haven't stayed there either, due to the location, although it does look nice. We prefer to have the walking option (as you do), so the furthest we like to go is about half a mile from the entrance. The Desert Palms is where we have stayed the last couple of trips and we really like it. Not right across the street but a nice easy 0.4 mile walk (10 mins). Also close to a few restaurants and right next to shops for park supplies or late night drink/snack runs. About the furthest we've stayed and walked was the corner of Katella and Clementine which google says is 0.7 miles to the entrance, but even that was pushing it for the kids at the time. Any more and we for sure would be getting Ubers or shuttles. Google says the Majestic Gardens is 1 mile, so that would be a no-go for us if we planned to walk.

Yes, you can walk to the parks from the Majestic Garden Hotel. Maybe 20-30 minutes total? Cross Ball Rd., heading south on Disneyland Dr. Stay on the left/east side of the street because the sidewalk ends on the other side. When you get to Magic Way, cross at the signal, heading west.

Here you have a choice: go through the gate on the south side of Magic Way, walk through the CM parking lot there, and go through security at the DTD bag check -- just follow the sidewalk -- it will take you to bag check. Once inside DTD, head east for the esplanade and the park gates (right across the esplanade from each other).

The other choice once you're at the corner of Magic Way and Disneyland Dr.: you can go up the stairs (next to the above mentioned gate) to the pedestrian bridge/overpass, cross the bridge to the Pixar Pals parking structure (connected to M&F), take the escalators down to the Mickey & Friends bag check, and catch the tram to the esplanade. This choice makes you backtrack a bit and might be a better option for the return trip to your hotel, i.e. take the tram back to M&F, then walk back to the hotel.
