Walking a reservation by Modifying?

I have not been able to be able to grab a room, so have so far been able to grab a night when walkers release it. If I ever CAN get one, can I then modify to get the rest of the nights I want. I only have enough points for 2 nights left. If I could get in, on Dec 8, as an example, would I need to cancel Dec 1 to free up the points before trying to modify? I don't want to lose what I have if I can't get what I want. I hope you can understand what I want to do. I have been able to modify before when combining separate reservations without moving anything, so don't know if I can move and modify. Thanks for your help.

You can modify. If what you need is available to your new dates, it will let you decide whether to proceed. If not, it will keep your current dates.

You can modify a reservation with a released date, but the additional dates you want need to be available in the system. If you already have 12/1 - 12/8 and want to add 12/8 and let go 12/1 you can do that by modifying your reservation. You’ll be allowed to select 12/2-12/9 for your modified reservation.

Thank you. I don't have all sequential dates, but I want 12/8-12/15. So far I have been up at 6AM every morning trying to grab, but others beat me. I am afraid the walkers will stop before I am able to get to my dates.

Booking opens at 8:00 am EST, so I assume you are a different time zone.

But just go in, modify what you have to pick up and include tomorrow, up to 7 nights. If you get it, great, if you can’t just back out..don’t change anything. You won’t lose what you got.

As soon as 8:00 AM Eastern hits, I start clicking.

Unfortunately, if you do not have the latest date booked you can not modify to include unavailable dates or walk yourself. So, you can't modify from 12/1 forward unless those dates are available.

If you can't get 12/8 tomorrow morning, I would go to a "Plan B". Grab a different view and waitlist *right away* for the view that you want.

The first day on their reservation opens tomorrow, so they won't be able to WL until then. But I do agree with you about stalking!

Stalking is a must for Dec reservations even at the 11 month window. I'm currently walking a Standard view Studio at Riviera for Christmas. Normally I continue to walk mid morning since there isnt a rush. I'm amazed how long the 1 abandoned day can stay available.

I picked up a couple days at AKV-Concierge about a week into the 11-month window (well after a walker would drop them). I was shocked.
