Walking a reservation at 7 months?

I have not walked a resrevation yet. Is it possible if you start walking a resevation before you 7 month window starts that someone with that home resort could snatch up one or some of the days you are trying to walk?

You're correct, even if the nights you want are currently available there is no guarantee they'll stay that way. Walking at 7 months you're only keeping out other non-owners, but owners of the resort can break your walk at any time.

Walking works best at your home resort and the 11 month window.

I have walked before for a holiday and for in demand times. I walked once for myself....only to put in a waitlist for a family member after the 11 month window and have it come through. Walking only gives you that piece of mind ahead of your 11 month window that you will get the date you want ahead of the 11 month window. But it isn't great if you are on a smaller contract like me because you are tying up points to walk a reservation that you may have tied up in another reservation. Never borrow just to walk unless you know you will be borrowing anyway. I'm not saying trying to walk a 7 month reservation is pointless, but at any point a home resort owner could take away the available room you are trying for before you can walk it to that point. People try it and do it....but it's a total gamble and could break your heart 1 day out lol.

7 month window can be crazy. One time we were looking to switch resorts at the 7 month window and the day prior there were open rooms, and at 8am I was frozen out.....but then later in the day when I looked, availability was there again. Sometimes the owners of the resort you want to get into, are trying to swap out of lol.

we were very lucky and were able to walk a 7 day studio from 8months out for VGC,,,great trip
