Walk ups at Boma

I just got off the phone w/ Disney Dining. I wanted to Boma the day we did AK. Well, the only time they had was 8:10pm and w/ 3 little ones that just won't cut it. I also don't want to plan another day around getting to Boma. Do you think we would have any luck if we showed up a little before 5 pm and asking for a table as a walk-up? Thanks.

I would get the ADR and show up early. I have had to do this and with an ADR, I have been treated as a guest with a reservation, not as a walk-up. I think it could make a difference in seating time. Plus, ADR times open up often, you can keep trying. Good luck and enjoy!!

When we went to Jiko, Boma was filled and turning away walk ups at opening. I wouldn't make a special trip over to AKL to chance a Boma walk up. When we went a few years ago, we had an early seating (6:00 dinner), showed up at 5:30, and waited half an hour AFTER our PS time to get seated.

Usually when we are there they are so busy that they cannot take walk-ups. You are going to be there at a busy time so I would not take a chance.

Thanks for giving me the heads up. I knew I should have had all this done before now.

I think Boma opens for dinner at 4:30pm, you may want to try right then. Even if they aren't open right then, the hostess will be there, you could see if there is room and then head out back to look at the animals if there is a short wait.

I called this morning and was able to get a reservation for 6:20. This is the only restaurant that I really wanted and was feeling a little disappointed, but now I think I have all my ADRs in place. Well, if I can change my Hollywood and Vine fantasmic package to a Brown Derby package, but thats not a biggie. Thanks for all the input.

Enjoy. I love the food at Boma.

We were there on an extremely slow week with 5 pm ADRs and still didn't get in until 5:15. Definitely get them for this restaurant.

We stayed at AKL in Oct. and could not get an ADR during our stay. We were told to show up at 5:00 and they would seat us then since that is when they open. I noticed there was a lot of folks showing up at 5:00 and being seated without ADR'S.

Generally if you get there when they open, you will get a seat fairly quickly at the resort restaurants. Especially if you don't have a big party. Since we can never make up our mind before hand this is usually what we wind up doing for meals.
