Walk Up to Restaurants

Just back from a nice long visit to Disney, and wanted to post about one experience in particular. It was my daughter's birthday day, and she had chosen EPCOT. We had dinner plans at Teppan Edo, but had not planned out lunch. For some reason everyone was saying they would all eat "where ever" and that wasn't really helping. I can't remember who suggested The Garden Grill, but we tried to get a reservation using our phones/Disney Experience and the times weren't matching up for us. Instead of giving up, we decided WISELY to just go to the restaurant and see if they could seat us. Everyone needed out of the sun and something nice to happen for the birthday girl ...
Well, the host said they had plenty of room for us, and right away ... and since my daughter was wearing her birthday button, they noticed right away.
For the entire lunch, every character came over to see her (she was turning 17 mind you), and they sat with her, teased her, hugged her ... came over 3 and 4 times ... and literally made her day!!! (you are never too old for a disney character to make you feel good!)
The waiter brought her a small free cake, and the Chip or Dale, pretended to be hungry and take a bite, only to turn the fork around and put cake on her nose!!
It was the best moment of the day!
We all laughed and laughed and she thought it was so funny as well !
I now like the Garden Grill more than ever!
Teppan Edo was also fantastic that night !!
