I really want to try Skipper Canteen, but don't want to be nailed to an ADR.
We are using the DxDP. Do you think we can get in by walk up at the end of September?
We have a 8:00AM ADR at BOG and I have this grand idea hubby and I could split a meal at BOG and save the other credit to split a meal at Skipper Canteen.
The more I read, the more I want to try that place. :coffee:
Also - What do you suggest for menu items to try (app, entree, dessert)? The menu looks so fun.

We did it when it first opened but I don't know about now. We have always had good luck just getting same day ADRs anywhere we want to eat (we don't eat at most of the "must have" places) so you could always just check MDE a hour or two before you are ready to eat and see if anything is available. I don't remember what we had, we shared an appetizer and an entre and still walked away fuller than ticks.

That math doesn't work. BOG breakfast is a QS credit, Skipper Canteen is a TS.

That's a good idea. I will just check the app at the park, perhaps right after breakfast.

We ate there once last trip, and I can tell you that the head on shrimp were AWFUL. We are seafood eaters. We live on the coast so it is a regular thing for us to cook and eat eat boiled shrimp, grilled or broiled fish ect. I have had shrimp just about every way you can prepare them , and I don't know what they did but these were the foulest smelling, worst tasting shrimp I have ever had, hands down. I smelled them coming to the table before they ever got there and knew i had no desire to eat them. It's enough to make me never want to go back. We are adventurous eaters, eat a lot of ethnic food and different spice palates, but this was just BAD!

Ate there for lunch in July. The soup was really good and so was the sustainable fish.

Our group of 8 had May, and had just about 6 different items. My favorite were the dumplings on the appetizer menu, I had intended to get them as my meal, but no one had ordered steak, so I added that. The other big surprise hit for my family was the steak salad! Everything we had was good, and we will definitely be going back!
