Walk to DL from Convention Way?

I will be staying on Convention Way (probably the Hilton or Marriott) and I would like to know if it is possible to walk to the DL entrance. It does not look very far on a map (a mile or so), but I cannot tell what the area/streets are like as far as sidewalks, traffic, and crossings are concerned.

I would appreciate any information about walking in this area. Thanks!

We walked from the Hilton/Convention Center to Downtown Disney and it wasn't too bad of a walk. We ended up near the DLH end, rather than the park entrance end, of DD. What I am not sure of is the exact route we took. (We had had a couple rounds in the hotel bar before heading over to DD for dinner...)

I'm not sure which would be the quickest way to walk. I'm not really sure where sidewalks are...other than on Katella and Harbor.

I would either walk to the Lion King parking lot and hop on the tram to the main entrance. Or just walk all the way down Harbor to get to the main entrance.

The red oval is roughly where you'd hop on the tram.
The blue oval is the main entrance off of Harbor.
The yellow square is the main plaza area between California Adventure and Disneyland.

You just walk thru the convention center area, next to the Hilton (beautiful walkway between Hilton & Conv Center), cross the street at light on Katella (you will basically end up right at the crosswalk), turn left and walk down the street a little, until you come to the entrance of the "convention center walkway" which goes into the Timon parking lot (on you're right). You can take the tram from there to the front, or you can walk the path, which would be across the parking lot, to your right. It's not a bad walk at all, and the trams are usually easy there.

OP - on the map, the distance between Convention Way and the big white circle roof (part of conv center), is not that far. If you look between conv center way & that circle, there are a bunch of green trees-under those is basically the path you will walk thru. You cross the street right at the end and the parking lot entrance is not very far down. We've stayed at both the Hilton & Marriott many times and have walked this often. IMO it's faster than walking all the way down Harbor to the front. The Hilton's the most convenient because they have an exit out the side that puts you right on the walking path between itself & the convention center. The Marriott's not bad, though-you just have to walk across the street. There are a couple of other hotels there, as well, but, again, you will have to just walk a little further down the street. It is not a long street, though.

We stayed at the Anabella....on the map it's directly to the EAST of S. West Street and to the SOUTH to Katella. It's all those building in a square-ish kind of shape in the corner. And we walked to the lion king parking lot (timon? what's it's called) and it wasn't a bad walk at all.
