Walk time between attractions

Searched but could not find. (Probably exists, but I lack the right keywords.) We have a couple months before it's time to book our fast passes for our October Orlando trip. I'd also like to have a vague idea of how long it takes to get to point A to B in the various parks to allow time to walk (not power walk/run) between rides/shows with a moment or two to stop and smell the occasional rose.

I have no idea how long it would take simply to walk from one end of a park to another, much less the different lands at MK or one part of Epcot to another. I need some sort of idea to ensure we get to our FPs in time and also the ADRs we have at each park.

Could someone point me to a place/thread where I could look this up? Thank you!

Google Maps has layouts of all the WDW parks:
maps.google.com

Zoom in on the park you want.
Right-click on first attraction and pick "Directions from here"
Right-click 2nd attraction and pick "Directions to here"
It will give you the distance and approximate walking time.
You can drag the middle of the route to a different path if you want to see something in particular on the way.

That will give you a good ballpark idea.

You can also get walking directions with estimated walking time right in the My Disney Experience app. Simple choose your destination attraction and tap "Get Directions". From there you can type in the attraction that will be your starting point (or if you're in the park currently, you can choose "My Location"). I've found the times they estimate to be pretty accurate for normal walking pace, and you can add a few minutes if you know you walk slower or are the kind of person who stops to look at things/take pictures/etc on your walk.

To set your mind at ease, each FP window is an hour. Within a park, you should easily be able to go through the FP line, ride, and walk to any other attraction within an hour. So even if you scheduled your FPs back to back to back for opposite ends of the park, you'll be able to do it. Now, is this the most efficient use of your time? Not always. I recommend looking at a map and trying to cluster FPs for rides near each other (for example, if you want to FP Splash and BTMRR, do so back to back because they are right next to each other) or, more generally, in the same or adjacent lands (for example, FP Dumbo and Pooh back to back in FAntasyland or Dumbo and Space Mtn back to back because Fantasyland and Tomorrowland are adjacent).

I'm so tickled to learn about all these different apps and tricks. I thought I had done my reading, but apparently not nearly enough! I feel more in control now.

My ideal world would be (for instance) to spend our time in each MK Land, finish up and then move on to the next one. I remember DL from when I was a kid. I thought that was a lot of walking, and DL is nowhere near as big as MK.

The good news is that I finally discovered a way to make DH take more of an interest in trip planning. I piled up a bunch of Disney/Orlando/Universal trip books in the bathroom!
