Hi!
I am going to WDW in 41 days and can't wait!!! :cheer2:
I am staying 3 nights at AKL and then 7 nights at BWV.
Can I walk through Epcot from the Boardwalk entrance to get to the monorail early in the morning or do I need to wait for Epcot to officially open? We will be pushing a double stroller and I think there will be times when walking will be easier then folding it up and boarding the buses- especially if the little ones are tired.

Just note that you must have passes with Park Hopping to do this. Because you will use a day's entry when you enter Epcot.

You can enter Epcot when it opens.

True! Twice we've had an early reservation for the 8:00am Segway tour. They wouldn't let us in until right at 8:00am. Both times they were checking people's names off on a clipboard who had either an early ADR for Akershus or was scheduled for the Segway tour. If your name wasn't on the clip board, you had to wait until official park opening to get in. For some reason the first time, my name wasn't on the list. They were not going to let me in, until one of them made a call verifying I was in the class.

Won't you have to fold a double wide stroller to get on the monorail anyway? Between the walk and the need to transfer from the Epcot monorail to the MK Express monorail at the TTC I'd think just getting the bus at BW would be less hassle.

that's a pretty giant walk for that! by the time you walk from bw to epcot, go all the way thru to the monorail, you could have been at bag check in the mk.

i think it would be worth folding it up for that for sure.

Can I enter the gateway near Boardwalk whe Epcot- Future World opens, or do I need to wait for the World Showcase to open- which is usually 2 hours later??

I've tried that, before... it didn't work out too well.

It was back in 2006 the week after Christmas. Thought we'd walk through and pick up Test Track FPs before heading to our Crystal Palace ADR at MK.

Well... they weren't letting anyone on the monorails because MK had reached capacity. Not even resort guests with ADRs. :confused3

We were bummed. After standing in a long line for customer service, a CM gladly changed our ADRs around so we had Garden Grill that afternoon.... unfortunately, CP was booked out for the entire week.

If you're going during a busy week, I definitely don't recommend it. And it is a long walk.

When Future World opens, they also open the World Showcase gate. Everything will be closed in WS, though. You can walk straight to FW.

Correction: no need to fold double wide strollers on the monorail but if you are trying to get on at a busy time, it REALLY helps with allowing more Guests onboard and does everyone a huge favor.
But it is a long walk.
I've been told of some passes you can pick up at Guest Relations to be able to walk through Epcot during regular hours with the purpose of getting to the Main Entrance but I've never used them so don't hold me to that. They may be for emergencies.
But it's a long walk and not quite worth it.
