Walk me through how DCL transfers and luggage work after cruise please

Going from port to MCO and flying southwest so I know it's not one of the preferred airlines but not sure what needs to be done with luggage night before through arrival at MCO. Thanks.

Unless you are doing express walk off (first off, managing your own bags) this is how it goes:

You place your luggage tags (provided by DCL the night before last) on your checked bags for your flight. Be sure to keep clothes and necessary toiletries/medications out for debarkation day. Place your (checked) bags outside your room the last night (usually by 10:00 pm).

On debarkation morning, once the ship is cleared, you get off, claim your bags in the terminal and carry them through Customs/Immigration check. I'm figuring you ARE using DCL transfers? You then take your bags to the bus (there will be a CM there to tell you what bus to use), hand your bags to the driver for placing under the bus, and board.

Once at the airport, claim your bags from the driver and off you go.

Well, the tags are used to sort out the bags in the terminal, to make it easier for you to pick them up. They aren't the actual airline baggage tags.

Only if you qualify and participate in the Onboard Airline Check-in program. Otherwise, you'll collect your bags in the terminal before going through Customs. Then take the bags out to the bus with you, driver will put it underneath for the drive to MCO, collect bags and enter airport.

As noted, it depends on which airline you are flying on (as well as your flight time).
