Walk me through AAA discount

No, you can get either FD or AAA, but not both.

If you're in a mod or deluxe it's worth looking into. Call your local AAA agent and make sure there is availability for their discount for that resort before changing anything. If there is, you can do a claim form and have the agent take over your reservation and change it to the AAA discount.

We are traveling at the end of May, during the regular season. The 1st quote I got had a lot of extras included (park hoppers, etc.) so I had them run 2 more quotes with the DDP and just base tix. I just priced it out on the WDW website again. For 3 nights at Poly and 1 night at POFQ with DDP and tix, the AAA quote is $45 less. For 3 nights at POFQ and 1 night at Poly with DDP and tix, the AAA quote is $2 less:confused3.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I guess I'd rather keep control of my reservation than to hand it over just to save $45.

I am new to AAA so I am not 100% sure when/how the discounts work, however I just booked my package today with AAA for POFQ for September 2012 with regular dining plan and water parks (NO HOPPER) and saved just under $250. I am sure we will do better once a Disney discount or FDing becomes available but for now any savings is good for me :)

So is there any particular person i have to call for AAA or can I call the number on the website about it? I'm thinking it may end up being a better deal for us. Thanks!

I you have a package you must use your AAA agent. If you are room only you can call Disney yourself.

Something doesn't sound right about that. You should be getting 20% off your nights at the Poly, I'm not sure about POFQ. But that should be far more than $45. They may be including travel insurance by default, which would add $69 per adult.

Like I mentioned previously, I had a reservation through Disney for a Treehouse Villa in February (regular season) for 5 nights, with 4 adults 2 children, and it saved me $1000.

It's possible that aaa rooms are sold out.. But a $2 price difference doesn't make much sense. Aaa does not offer any discount on ddp, and only a trivial discount on tickets. (that could be $2).

I'd suggest asking aaa to quote a room only price and compare that. It doesn't sound like you are getting an accurate quote.
