I'm thinking that I'd really like to do this when there in a few weeks. How do we go about signing up for the tour?

Also, for those that have done it, did you enjoy it? What should we expect? :goodvibes

I just did the tour on Labor Day and had a great time! However, my tour was a little unique, so YMMV.

First of all, it was 100 degrees in the shade that day -- which had a major effect on the tour. In addition to myself, there was only one other couple in the tour group. (A few others had cancelled due to the heat.) But this turned into a real boon for the 3 of us, as our small group received a more "intimate" tour.

The heat also caused a change in the tour itinerary. We still went in the Tiki Room, but instead of doing the Jungle Cruise, the guide substituted POTC (since it is indoors and cool). We also got to go in our own boat in IASW (which I don't believe is a usual part of the itinerary either). To top everything off, at the end of the tour we rode in the Lilly Belle parlor car on the Disneyland Railroad!

As for the content: Since I'm pretty up on my Walt/DL History, there wasn't a lot I didn't know. Still, I learned a few new facts and saw some things I hadn't noticed before. It definitely wasn't a tour for children, however, as I think they could be somewhat bored with the focus on Walt and the early history of Disneyland.

The whole tour was a very special experience, and I am very glad I did it.

We took this tour in July and it was also VERY hot that day. I recommend very good walking shoes and lots of water. You get lunch when you are done and a nice pin. I have kids that are 6 and 7 and they took the tour and did great but not all kids would probably do well. It could possibly get boring for some. We went on the Jungle Cruise, in the Tiki room and rode the Lilly Bell as well although the Lilly Bell was REALLY hot. In fact my mom kind of get heat stroke. You get some head sets where you can hear walt talk and you tour most areas of the park. We went into the theater on main street and the fire house. You also get to see the lobby of Club 33 and we went in the gallery although I doubt you will get to do that now.

I very much enjoyed this tour. After we were done we had lunch/dinner but it is just sandwhiches drinks and a cookie in the little garden by the tour area.

Hope that helps and if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Enjoy!

thank you so much for your responses. we're going in little over three weeks, so I dont think we'll have to worry about super hot weather. at least i hope not. My FI and I know very little about DL history so it should be a very good expierence for us.

Thanks again. I'll get on the phone today. :rotfl:
