Just looking to find out what kind of experience people have had with Trattoria for breakfast during the week, it’s going to be for a party of 6 in November.

Thanks

It's always worth calling the week of your stay. Many times there are cancellations to avoid the charge. Good luck!

Breakfast at Trattoria is a character meal - those are usually pretty impossible to get as a walk up. Check the app for reservations before and during your trip, something will probably pop up.

Check for reservations 30 days out (vacation package must be cancelled or paid in full. 5 days out (room reservations must be cancelled to avoid fees). 24 to 48 hours before day you want reservations. Guests must cancel to avoid $10 per person cancellation\no show fee.

Disney’s model doesn’t really allow for walk ups. People have been turned away from places, gone online, booked and walked back up. I would not attempt any ts restaurant as a walk up

This particular restaurant does have non-ADR, walk up breakfast seating if you want to try the menu a la carte. No characters if you do it that way.

If your goal is characters, set up a res finder and keep looking. It's packed all morning and you're extremely unlikely to get a seat in the character area. If you just want to try out the food, you can walk up.

I’d second setting up a reservation finder if you want the character breakfast. They do come open - I just snagged an ADR for 2 on 9/30 through the finder.

Couple of caveats...
1 - Set a time rather than “Breakfast” unless you are cool with having breakfast at 11:55am as the breakfast does run that late. That came up Saturday so I grabbed it and figured I would try to modify. Set another finder for 9 and yesterday morning got a notification for 8:45 and was able to modify my ADR to that.

2 - This is the one restaurant that for some reason going through the link the finder sends makes it seem like they do not lock out the ADR once someone starts it. I was to the allergy page and got the “Paws” page meaning it is “gone”. I went out and back in and got it. Posted that experience on TP and got pretty consistent responses that the “Paws” thing followed by grabbing it happened to everyone who went through the link. Better to just go to make an ADR on your own when you get the notification.

Quick question. If I did the walk-up menu, anyone know if I could get the pastry platter served in the character breakfast side? I have an ADR for a solo trip staying at BWV, would rather drop the ADR and eat without characters... but I love the themed pastry platter!

Yeah...sometimes it's really bizarre. At La Hacienda on Friday night, they turned away walkins while at the exact same time, on the app, all dining times were wide open. You could make a reservation for 10 minutes later, but they would not take you as a walk-in.

I don’t think so. The reviews I have found of the non-character side of the place never include that. You could always ask - but since it is part of a fixed-price menu they may either have a charge for it or not be able to.

That’s what’s I was afraid of. I’d be willing to pay a la carte for the pastries but do want them! Thanks for the reply.

Like I said, I do not know if they are even available a la carte. They may only have enough to cover the character breakfast.

I was thinking about this too. I assume you mean the walk-up breakfast that Trattoria al Forno serves that's NON character that you can't reserve, just walk up? I was wondering if they're still doing this. I'll find out in a few weeks!

I'm fine either way, we just did the character ADR and loved the breakfast calzone and want it again, plus we're at boardwalk so it would be super convenient.
