Walk from French Quarter to Riverside?

Just curious, how far is it to walk between these resorts? Just to compare would it be like walking from the Dolphin to the Boardwalk or the YC/BC? Or longer? I was thinking of a trip in July when every step can seem like a mile in the heat and I was wondering if we really would take advantage of using the two resorts or would it just be too darn hot to walk?

it depends - if you get building 7 at POFQ - then some of the building at POR are closer than Building 1 at POFQ

however POR is Big - and very spread out - so walking to the restuarant - would be less than walking from the Dolphin to the Cape May Cafe in BC - but not a whole lot closer.

You can always hop on a bus from FQ and it stops next at POR(...if going from FQ to POR of course ) or you can hop the boat to DTD...it stops at both before heading to DTD, you just need to check if it's already been yet or not. The walk isn't bad though...we did it and it's about 10 mins or so from the front enterance of POR's main bldng. to the front enterance of FQ's.

Thanks! I could not seem to find a map that showed where exactly POR and FQ are connected. So is the connection near building 7 at FQ?

We have done the walk from Cape May to the Dolphin and that is not so bad, so if the walk to the pool at POR from FQ is similar, then I think its do-able!

Hey, while I'm on the subject, where is the parking at FQ? Is it only toward the front by building 4 and the entrance or is on the back side of all the buildings? Thanks again for any info!!

There's a walking path/sidewalk that goes all the way from one resort to the next from front door of each main bldng. it goes underneith the bridge that's between the 2 resorts and along the river. It's very pretty. Bldg.7 at FQ just happens to be on the side closest to POR.

Parking at FQ is to the left or right of the main bldg. if you are facing it head on (kind of wraps around to the sides) depending on which bldng you end up in We were in bldg.1 once and parking was on the side of that bldng. to give you an idea

Thanks everyone! Just wanted to add that I did find a map of the two resorts together on Allearsnet.com under the Riverside section of accomodations in the photo section. Now I have a better idea of the connection between the resorts as well as the parking situation. I just wanted to post this in case anyone else was interested. Now all I need to do is convince my DH!
