Walk from Doubletree

I could've sworn I saw this thread before, once upon a time. Since I'm staying at the Doubletree across the street (unless I have a sudden windfall) I was wondering if anyone had any good directions for walking to UO from the hotel? I know Brab had told me to walk to PBH and take the boat, which I might try one day. Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance!!

I think he just said to walk up Major Blvd to Universal Blvd to the area where the bus stop and drop off area is. Go up the escalators (or stairs) and join the crowd that is walking from the parking garages. Doubletree is right at the corner of Kirkman and Major Blvd.

Walk to the corner and press the "Cross the Street" button. When you get the walk signal, step lively. Kirkman is a broad street and the light doesn't allow for dawdling.

Then it's straight ahead to the "T" intersection and turn left. Bear right at the Valet parking area and up the stairs.

Budget about 15 to 20 minutes for the walk.

As a local, I always worry about the people I see every day at the intersection of Kirkman and Major.

I would just add that Kirkman Road is THE major street in this part of town...it's 8 lanes across at this intersection and heavily travelled all day and well into the evening and my neighbors, unfortunately, can be crazy drivers and don't always watch out for pedestrians. So...please remember to be careful, keep an alert eye on the traffic, cross quickly and ONLY at the crosswalk and you'll be fine.

I was worried about that too......so I got me and my friend trip insurance just in case! So we're covered if we lose a limb, or eyesight, or life!
