Hey ya'll!

I just got back from my "morning run" into Wal Mart. :rolleyes1

Anyway, I just wanted to let ya'll know that it looks like (at least at my WM), that they are doing a kind of overhaul on the scrapping things. The sales lady there said they had all kinds of new things that have come in, and they will be further marking down some of the things in stock and probably moving them to a markdown aisle. Then they will be setting up the new scrap supplies. I saw sheets hanging up on the scrap aisle showing all the new things they're going to put up (or at least how it's organized). I can't wait to see what they have coming in. I told ya'll about the colored craft wire last week or so, and that's one of the new items.

Now, on to my "deal of the day"! They are taking a few further markdowns today on different things, and one of them was spools of yellow Offray ribbon. It was marked down to 5 cents a package! I bought several for that price, as I figure I will use some of it in my circle journal, and for future swaps. I hope I bought enough.....wonder if I'll need more? :rolleyes1

Ooh, ooh, I forgot to tell ya'll about one more thing. They just put out the cutest ribbon today. It's called Candy Stripe Grosgrain Ribbon, and it comes in a 12 ft. roll for $1.83. So many cute colors, and they all coordinate together so well!

I know ours is in the "clearance" stage so itll be a week or two till we reset (and the good clearance starts...) but thats kewl about the new stuff- and the ribbon sounds fun :)

Oh Maxine, you shouldn't have told me! My car just went in the shop today (UGH!) so I have to slow down on the shopping. But if stuff is on clearance, then it wouldn't be toooooo bad, right?! :teeth:

I'm beginning to wonder....do we have a scrapping addiction or a shopping addiction? :confused3

Maxine, my find of the week was at my local Walmart also.
Down the "container isle" Sterlite (plastics) came out with a PAPER STORAGE
Container!
Yes Ladies! It's for 12x12 paper :earseek:

It has three drawers (clear) and says Photo safe.
They were 8.97 each. Our scrap section leaves much to be desired.
But my LLS is having a "spring Clearance" sale and everything except tools and cardstock is 50% off. if anyone needs any Colluzle templates, LMK.

Well I know I've spent at least twice as much time shopping instead of scrapping. But now I'm following some new self-imposed rules: use what I have now before buying anything more! Except for a 12 inch cutter, and eyelets, and maybe just a few sheets of that too-cute spring paper I saw last week, and I think I need a few more stickers...ahhh..who am I kidding! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

TinkerKat, I looked for that storage system today after I noticed someone mentioned it on two peas. No luck at my Wal Mart, but they're really putting lots of stuff out right now. I'll keep my eyes out for that one--it sounds like something I can use!

Now, as far as a shopping addiction goes....wouldn't we just all say it is a woman's perogative to shop?

TinkerKat, can you post a picture or model # for the paper holder? I went to Sterilite's website and can't find it.

Thanks!

Michelle it goes under the category of ClearView 3 Drawer Organizer #1791

It looks just like the picture but is 12x12. Going to charge my camera and try to scan it tomorrow afternoon.

Well I just experienced a first! I was at WalMart on Sunday (2ce) & spent $100 and none of it was on scrapping stuff! ;) Then I had to take DD there yesterday afternoon for a prescription & some school project stuff. I was even in the craft section...of course DD was in the fabric & general craft sections while I was in the scrapbook aisle. :rotfl: I was good and made it all the way to the front of the store w/o any scrapping stuff in my cart! :Pinkbounc I wasn't even experiencing any withdrawal symptoms! :teeth:

If only we hadn't hit a line at the check-out! :sad2: DD just couldn't take it that I wasn't buying any scrapping stuff, so she ran back & grabbed a box of the spring/pastel eyelets that was on clearance for $5. :rotfl: :rotfl: I've trained her well! ;) You know, they are a bit harder to set than the ones I've gotten from BargainPack, etc but they are a nicer quality. The rim is a bit wider (making them show up more on the page) and color seems brighter.

Deb, I'm glad to hear you were able to practice some restraint during your trips to WM. ;) I was wondering how you were going to do yesterday with the AC Moore store so close to DD's appt. Did you just drive right past without even looking? My willpower is just not that strong...

Hey, that's great your DD is looking out for you! LOL!!! I actually have ended up liking those eyelets I complained so bitterly about before. They are not as soft as the Bargainpack ones, but they are a nicer quality---seems to be like MM.

BTW, have you looked on the bargainpack site lately? They now have pink flamingo and palm tree eyelets. I'm definitely falling for that one! :rotfl:

You're so mean! :rotfl2: I haven't been back to that site for quite a while. I'd really have to think about pink flamingos & palm trees, though.

I think it's called a scrapbook shopping addiction. My addiction is definately shopping for scrapbook stuff.

True. It does seem that the addiction is limited to scrapping stuff. :rotfl: Well I DID finally do one more page last night!

I just wanted to update on my Wal Mart post. Ran back in this morning, and they have made some further markdowns on clearance items. I got DMC embroidery floss for 10 cents a skein, those little bottles of Plaid Apple Barrel craft paints were 10 cents too. Eyelets were $4.50 for 500 in a pkg., a light box was $5. I also saw (but didn't buy) the craft carrier (can't remember what it's called) marked down to $40 from $79. I think this is the one most people take to crops to hold their scrap stuff. I got a couple of stencils for 10 cents, and those chunky stamps were 50 cents.

SM, you enabler you! I even have the car today, but I'd better stay home. With the mood I'm in, I'd buy out the whole craft section - sale or not. ;)
