Waking up to Snow, what do you do on a snow day?

I am getting Christmas stuff done!

Wonder if there will even be any more school next week?????

Probably not!

A friend just posted a pic on FB, she is in Columbia, of a ruler in the snow. She already has 11". Here are some out my front door between last night and about an hour ago. I am in Ellicott City.

No storm here, but usually bake, read, DIS, scrapbook, play a game with the family, write letters, catch up on movies I have that I've yet to watch, etc..

Right now I'm considering wandering up into the attic to see if I kept my quilting supplies when I moved out of my house or if I sold them.. After Christmas I'd like to start one of 3 projects: making some more quilts; working on my scrapbooks again; or painting all those plastercraft pieces I purchased at a garage sale years ago (something DGD can do with me )..

Might be too cold to stay up there going through totes very long though.. It's only 18 degrees here - with a wind chill of 10.. Brrrrrrr...

Whatever you all decide to do today, have fun!

Expecting about 12" here. Am already stranded at work. Good thing I work at a Casino...being stranded isn't such a bad thing...LOL

Hasn't started snowing yet but they're saying a foot or so, I guess. We have a Christmas party to go to tonight (dh's work party) So if that's not cancelled we'll be going there. But between now and then I'll just do some cleaning, then wrap 2 more gifts (then I'll be done).

I've already done my grocery shopping so I didn't have to go out tomorrow morning. So if we're snowed in tomorrow, I'd like to get some scrapbooking done. Haven't done that in a L O N G time!!!

It's a cozy peaceful week-end at home for us in Maryland winter wonder land ! We have 13" of white stuff with no signs of letting up soon! Finished decorating, wrapping gifts, made a pot of beef stew for dinner and we'll snuggle up to a C'mas show later on. All the kids have called to be sure the ole' fokes are surviving ! We've battened down the hatches, have the oil lamps ready to go if needed, xtra water drawn and a gas stove for heat if electric goes out.

Sharon I hope your DH gets home safely - God Bless all those who have to be working in this storm!

Thank you VERY much!!! He made it home fine. The warehouse had 136 tractor trailer loads going out today, restocking from the nightmare on Friday. When he got back to the warehouse, the company made the decision that the remaining loads would have to wait until tomorrow. Just too dangerous and not worth it. There were alot of tractor trailers (not his employer) that got stranded though. Hope everyone made it someplace safe and warm.

I love days when it's snowing and I can just stay indoors, and thankfully that's the type of day I have most often anymore.

I can find lots to keep myself busy, I am never bored. It's a great time to do some baking, or try a new recipe for dinner. I love to pop some popcorn and curl up on the couch with a nice warm blanket and get lost in a great movie, or curl up on the couch with that same warm blanket and a cup of hot tea or decaf coffee and a good book. Heavenly!!

Or spend time on the computer chatting on message boards, or playing The Sims3.

Maybe take a nice hour-long nap.

And if I'm really ambitious, clean out a few drawers or a closet. Organize some photos, write a letter, put the headphones on and listen to some soft music.

Even though I don't like the snow, the cold, the wind, the icy roads, etc. I do love to hibernate in the house.
