Just woke up a half hour ago and everything is already covered in S. Jersey. This wind is blowing and it's cold. We are in the bullseye of the storm expecting around 18" by tomorrow morning. That is a lot of snow.

A good day to bake some cookies, clean and scrapbook. So what do you like to do on a snow day?

Curl up by the fireplace with a good book, hang out on the internet.

We're expected to get 20 to 30 (!) inches of snow, and I'm pretty bummed about it. My parents from out-of-state were supposed to visit this weekend for our Christmas together and had to cancel because of the weather. :sad1: I'm not sure when they can reschedule a visit. We were all ready for them to come and even though they made the right decision in cancelling we were still disappointed.

My plan for the day is to watch the weather coverage on TV because I'm geeky that way :rolleyes1, bake some Christmas cookies, play some board games, maybe watch a Christmas movie, and shovel.

My kids are both in the Christmas pageant at church tomorrow and I'm guessing that church will be cancelled. There's no way that the side streets and church parking lot will be cleared tomorrow morning if we do get 20-30" of snow.

Well, just got off the phone with DH, he is in his 18 wheeler down on the DC beltway delivering groceries to the stores. The stores were wiped out of groceries yesterday, they need to be replenished. I can't wait til he makes it home safe and sound!!!! He had seen about 7 vehicles off the road including a plow/salt truck.

Me, I just started :laundy:, the story of my life!!! In the meantime, I am going to wrap Christmas presents and do a little spiffing up of the house.

We are going to watch Christmas movies, bake cookies, and make a ginger bread house here.

I'm going to bake cookies and try to wrap some gifts. I know my DS6 is gonna want to play outside all day , but with my 3 week old DD that's gonna be kinda hard for me. Hopefully DH will get his 3 car lots plowed quickly and can play with DS outside. They usually hook a sled up the the 4 wheeler a take rides around the neighborhood. We don't have any hills out here in Delaware to sled on. Should be a fun day tho. We almost never get this much snow.:)

We will also be getting hit with alot of snow today. There must be 6 in. of snow already and it's not going to stop until sometime tomorrow:eek: I am going to bake cookies, wrap gifts, sled in the yard (we have a big hill). My son had a b'day party two blocks away so I hope we can walk there later. My dog keeps wanting to be let out. I guess my floors will be wet for days. Wonder if there will even be any more school next week?????

My husband is up in North Jersey since yesterday working outside th PSEG building. I hope he gets done before the roads get real bad.The wind is really picking up.

I"m going to finish wrapping and make a big pot of home made Chicken Soup and Clean.

Everybody stay safe!!

We had about 5 and a half inches yesterday, so our "snow event" is over. Not expected to get above freezing today, though, so we are staying in.

I have some housecleaning to do, and we will watch TV, make cookies, play board games, and finish decorating the house for Christmas. We went out in the snow yesterday for our Christmas tree - that was fun! We brought in it in the house last night so it should be nice and dry and ready for decorations today.

I'm also going to wrap presents off and on all day - hope to have that job completely finished by the end of the weekend.

Bake cookies, play board games (I bought Disney Apples to Apples for Christmas, I think we will break it out today!) pop some popcorn and watch Christmas movies..read, play on my laptop, study..so much to do! Oh, and most important, go outside and play in it!!! :cool1:

I'm in Occoquan, VA(Just south of DC) and already have about a foot. I'm starting my second beer and the fourth season of "The Wire". :thumbsup2

We are supposed to get the snow around noon. I am going to bake cookies with the kids and do laundry. We will light the fireplace and also put up more decorations in the house. If the snow is a good snow (no rain) we will all go out and play in it for a while then come in to hot chocolate and a hot meal. :lovestruc Of course if it were truly magical the fairies would come and do it all while I played in the snow and then took a nap!:rotfl:

I remember living in Willow Grove in the 1980s...outside of Philly.

I remember a really cool snow day--my parents were military and they
didn't have to go to work. Our street was off a main drag, but wasn't even close to being plowed. Snow was 3 feet high and we played and played and played.

My DH is near Manassas, VA--so my *snow day* is making sure the hubby doesn't opt to do something silly. His friend has a 4 wheel drive--but I still don't want him to go out. They want to go to the movies. I am wondering if we should have gotten snow tires on his car. But evidently this early snow is unusual for the area.

How about a bike ride when hubby gets home, Sharon? :duck: :cool1::cool1:

You better duck Dan!!!! Don't give my hubby any crazy ideas!!!

Actually, when he gets home he will fire up the snowblower and be in 7th heaven!!! He clears the sidewalks on the block that we live on. One snowstorm several years ago, after he was done snowblowing, he came back to find a whole case of beer on our back porch!!!

WE are getting hammered, mets are now calling for 25" in my area!!!

When we had 12 inches of snow last week in Illinois I paid bills, wrapped gifts, and gave myself a pedicure :thumbsup2

My sis lives in S. Jersey and she was supposed to go to a wedding today

It got canceled though...stay warm everyone!
