Waitlists and breakage

Hi! I’m not sure I completely understand breakage but I have a question about how it might impact waitlists. I’ve had a room waitlisted for a night I need to fill a gap in a reservation in December. We are now within 60 days so I know Disney can take the rooms for cash bookings. If my room were to come available, can Disney snatch it even though I’ve had the waitlist in since before the 60 day mark? It seems like since we’ve hit the 60 day mark I don’t see any studio rooms at any resorts popping available when stalking.

The breakage period for rooms is 60 days from check in. So, all rooms that become available can be taken for the reasons allowed, cash reservations included.

Here are the rules. Waitlists is one reason why others may not see rooms being available.

I do not believe there is a priority to these but my guess is that waitlists do have a higher priority than the others, especially if put in place more than 60 days out.

No one really knows how breakage really works. Some say DVC even anticipate breakage and books rooms month in advance to sell for cash.
It would certainly make sense to fill in WL before breakage.
