We've got a trip booked for early November as we want to catch the end of the Food and Wine Festival.

Our home resort is SSR, which is where we are currently booked and I have just waitlisted us for either Boardwalk or Beach Club (studio). Just wondering if anyone has experience of trying to do this and whether the waitlist will come through?

Alternatively, we could get some points from someone and book a 1 bed unit now.

Any thoughts and experience would be greatly appreciated.

My best guess would be that if you tried to book a 1 bdrm now from another member, you would still have to go on the waitlist. Epcot area rooms book up pretty fast at 10-11 months out during F&W. The majority of members would be reluctant to tie up points on a waitlist for a possible rental - if it doesn't come through they have wasted the points for nothing.

If you go on a waitlist right at 7 months you could get lucky. You are almsot in that window right now.

Thanks, mikesmom - Matt's dw here. :goodvibes

The 7 month window opened up for us last Thursday and we have been phoning daily without success. As things stand, we have waitlisted all studio options at BWV as well as a BCV studio.

We know that there are 1 beds (preferred view) available at BWV as we speak, hence our dilemma - do we spend the extra points now to secure an Epcot resort during the busy IF&WF period, or do we hold out for our preferred option of a studio and risk having to stay at a non-Epcot resort?
