Waitlisted at Vero in August-darn!

Tried to get a 2 bedroom for first week of August at Vero Beach. We have 9 traveling and all the one bedroom villas for 5 are also full so would have to do 3 one bedroom Inn or studio and don't have or want to use that many points.

any idea on what chances the waitlist will come through? Unfortunately had to cancel at 31 days out. Due to work and need to get airflights,etc can't afford to wait until 7 days before to find out.


I kept waiting to here from other family to make up their mind.
Yes, I know I should have just booked the first day available at the 7 month mark and then cancelled if other family couldn't go. I tried to use the blackout board here to gage it and I guess it is not that up to date.

The availability board isn't very accurate to find out what is available. But it may give you a hint as to what is not available. It's only as good as the members who enter the info there. If you enter your dates in there others will not you couldn't get your dates.

I used the August 2010 postings as a guide. I know that it relies on people posting and is in no way actually records from DVC but I thought somebody would have posted something being full in August 2010. So when there were no postings at all, i got a false sense of security. Oh well, live and learn.

I hope the waitlist comes through.

If you really want to go to Vero-you will love it, we came for a long weekend & ended up buying a condo here, Aug is off season, so you will be able to get a fantastic price at any of the quaint hotels/motels here. if you want some names, let me know. We love it here in Vero Beach!!

I was waitlisted for a one bedroom for the first week in August. In a matter of days it came through. Monday through Thursday only though. Good luck.

i think over the years I must have been wait listed about a dozen times and always have been call with a reservation.
I think a lot of people make reservation knowing they will cancel just to secure the date in case they will be vacationing.
I would not worry, just have confidence and goo luck.
