Waitlist

Can someone explain how this woks? The first day that I need is unavailable but the next 3 days are available. Thanks

I'm assuming you are booking at your 11 month window. Your option today is to waitlist your entire stay and try to book the last 3 nights you want tomorrow. If you are successful tomorrow, waitlist the 1st night and hope for pixie dust.

You cannot book or waitlist for nights until the window opens. It looks like others booked that 1st night you need before you - October is popular and the value/standard categories tend to go quickly, especially studios. Columbus Day weekend can be especially difficult. But waitlists made at 11 months have a good chance of coming through - changes are better if they are for 1 -2 nights. Good luck!

No it is 7 month window(2 bedroom Beach Club). Was just wondering how the order of waitlisting is approved

Order is first to waitlist, first to get EXCEPT that all your nights must be available to get a match. If you are first on the waitlist and need 4 nights, they will skip you if something less than that becomes available. So for example, if only 2 nights of your desired stay become available, a person last on the waitlist could get them if no one between the two of you has a waitlist that would match the open nights. If there is no match, the available nights just go back into the regular inventory.

DVC will not "hold" open nights waiting for the rest of a waitlst's nights to become available. That is why some members will check themselves on a frequent/regular basis to grab individual nights they find and then adjust their waitlists. Some are successful doing that, but there is also a risk of ending up with holes in what you need.

Does the waitlist update during off hours or only when Member Services is open?

No one really knows for sure. Many of us think waitlist matching is a batch program run several times over a 24 hour day. Matches go in to a file and require manual action by MS to complete the process.
