I am a new DVC member closing in May '03. We bought 200 points at the BCV.
I already booked a trip for 12 days (studio) in May but the BCV or BWV were not available. I went on the waitlist for either place for one week or two. Do you think it's realistic to get one of those places?

Danny and Erica,

Let me first say Welcome Home! As to your waitlist question, I am on the waitlist for the first week of May and am willing to take a studio at any of the four resorts. When I called today, there were a few days available at OKW, but not the full time period I wanted. For both of our sakes, I hope the waitlist comes through!

Update:

Within three hours of modifying my waitlist request, I got the call from MS saying that a studio at OKW was available. I took the ressie but kept my name on the waitlist for BCV and BWV. My fingers are still crossed for you!

Danny and Erica,

Welcome to the DIS and Welcome Home!!!!

If your dates are still 31 days or more into the future I think you might have a shot at it. Once reservations are into the 1-31 day period people usually do not cancel because of the penalty of having their points go into the Holding Account. Make sure that your Waitlist request stays on file until 2 weeks before your check in date. Even after that you can still check availability by calling. So, you can do your first week at VWL (?) and still call MS for availability at BCV. Good luck!

hi: just another suggestion-get your guide involved in the ressie! they sometimes have the ability to help a brand new member with their first reservation. it can't hurt. i'm sure you'll have a wonderful trip whichever resort(s) you wind up at.
