Waitlist when you have reservation @ Aulani & want waitlist @ GCH or WDW resorts

I've tried searching for the answer to this question on these boards, but am coming up with nada. Hoping some of you wise people can point me in the right direction. Here's my situation & my question:

We are new DVC resale owners. Have 100 pt & home resort is Aulani. Feb use year (that part is probably not relevant). Have 5 nights in a studio booked for a M-F during my kids' spring break for March 2026.

Now we are thinking of switching instead to 1 of the following:

• 3 nights in a studio at GCH for a Mon-Thurs stay (i.e., check in Mon, check out Thurs) mid-March 2026
• 2 nights in a 1 BR at GCH for a Mon-Wed stay mid-March 2026
• 3 nights in a studio at GCH Mon-Thurs in August 2026 before YDD goes off to college & before we have to schlep ODD back to college for her junior year
• 2 nights in a 1 BR at GCH Mon-Wed in August 2026
• 4 or 5 nights (Mon-Fri) stay in a studio mid-March 2026 at AKL (savannah view), BRV, CCV, or BLT

I would SWEAR that I read in a thread somewhere on here that somebody talked about how they're an Aulani owner and they tried to put in a WDW waitlist request and had problems with that because the Aulani and WDW reservation systems were different...so the advice I remember reading was that one should cancel the 1st reservation yourself.

And yeah, I know that GCH rooms are super hard to come by at the 7 month mark.

What would you all advise in this situation?

It's going to be very hard to get consecutive nights at VGC during those times. I'd almost say to go with whatever option you are able to get. I'd put in a couple waitlists and see what happens.
