Waitlist success. Now I get the complaints on banking.

I know this is not exciting info, but I had to share since we were checking if our waitlist would go through for the last 3 weeks. Our banking deadline is July 31, and if our WL didn't go through we would have had to give up on it.

I booked a last minute trip to BWV in Sept for dh and I. They had a studio for Fri/Sat, but not our Sunday. We were going to have to move to SSR. Don't get me wrong, I love SSR, but I just really didn't want to move for such a short trip. Plus I'll be 6 months pregnant for the trip and really didn't want to be homeless for midday on Sunday as thats when I'll probably want to rest. Anyway, I checked dvcmember.com this am, and saw that our WL came through. We now have all three nights at BWV!

I can now see why some where upset with the changes to the banking deadline. We could have stayed on the WL until just before our trip, however we had to bank all of our points by this week. With the old banking deadlines, we would have had until Sept 30 to bank the last 25% of our points. Now we would have either had to leave a straggler single point that was the difference between the SSR studio and BWV studio to make sure there were enough '07 points available if the WL came through, or just give up all together. I know it's only 1 point, but I really didn't want to loose it if I can use it next year.

Sorry, just wanted to share. We are now 3/3 for WL success!

Graet to hear your waitlist came through but a way round this would of been to bank all remaining 07 points and ask for 08 points to have been borrowed if the waitlist came through.

I did this last year when we joined DVC, I banked all our 07 points and for a waitlist of one night out of 14 I asked for 08 points to be used, the rest of the ressie was developer points and it was no problem.

The loss of banking opportunities in the last months of our UY is still a sore issue for me. I've continued to mention it to MS when I get calls from Member Satisfaction team. The last CM told me it had to do primarily with out of system trades, and went on how it simplified things. I just have to agree to disagree with them.
