I was able to book the first 4 nights of our 11 night stay at Aulani but 12/25 is not available. I know this means I cannot book 12/26 and later even though they are available bc of the 7 month window rules. My question is whether I should be able to wait list 12/25 as part of my reservation. The CM I spoke to said no but she was so confused and barely knew the rules that I had to explain some basic things to her so I don't trust her answer. The call took 40 minutes because she was so misinformed. She swore I should be able to book 12/26 and later since it was within 7 days of my checkin date even though 12/25 was not available. It was very frustrating.

Call MS back and ask to speak to a team lead CM.

If its any comfort, for last Christmas I was able to get the first 3 nights of our stay right at the 7 month window and then after checking the website daily (sometimes 2x's) managed to cobble together a 6 night stay.

I did not wait for the waitlist to fill, but rather was online every day checking availability and adding/shifting days as they popped up.

We wound up with the first night in a Studio Standard View and then all the other nights in a 1 bedroom Island View that also had a bonus view of the ocean.

So keep on checking back with the website, things seemed to shift and open up at the 4 month mark or there about.

We spent a total of 10 days on Oahu the first 4 in Waikiki to get all our touring done, then moved out to Aulani for the rest of our stay. Next time, our kids enjoyed the northshore so much, we are going to add on a few days up at Turtle Bay Resort. This might be an option for you if you arent able to get all 11 nights at Aulani.

When the window first opens, you can book up to 7 nights if they are available. You are blocked from anything else if you encounter a sold out night. When you are blocked, your only waitlist choice at that point is the entire stay. So you cannot waitlist 12/25 by itself until the window opens for that night.

On 5/21, you could book the nights that were available (which you did) and then waitlist the entire stay (using your first waitlist entitlement).

When the window opens for 12/25 (assuming it's still not available), you can waitlist the rest of your stay or just that night (using your second waitlist entitlement).

On 5/26, you can book the rest of your nights if they are available and change /keep one of your waitlists to just 12/25. You would cancel the other waitlist for the entire stay.

I've assumed you have no active waitlists at this time.

Good luck!

Forgot to mention that if you should see 12/25 become available today (5/24) you can call MS and they can add it to your existing 4 night reservation. At that time, they can also add up to 7 more nights to your stay if they are available.
