Waitlist question

Can I go on a waitlist if I want the first 6 nights to be on points and the last 2nights paying cash?

We currently have a 1 BR booked all on points. I would love to waitlist for a 2BR, but we would only have enough points for the first 6 nights and would then have to pay cash for the last two. Does the waitlist need to be all points or all cash?

Can you borrow some points from your next UY to cover the last 2 nights?

No, we are already borrowing. We have a one bedroom on points and my mother has a studio on cash. I realized too late that we could have done a 2BR using points the first 6 nights and had her pay the cash the last two nights so we could be together. Maybe next time!
