Waitlist Question

If you have several choices on your waitlist, and one of them comes through, does the waitlist get cancelled?

I had OKW for 2 nights, and then waitlisted for BWV, BCV, VWL, and AKV, and AKV came through. So, does that mean the rest gets cancelled?

Yes. You list the resorts in priority order but no matter which one comes through (even if it's your last choice) the rest are cancelled. You can call MS and get back on the wait list for BWV, etc. but you will be added to the end of the list.

Thanks! I'm debating what to do. We really LOVE BWV and BCV location, but the only way we'd stay anywhere else is if we get "stuck" with it. And to tell you the truth, I'm kind of excited about being stuck at AKV! One night is EMH at AK, and the next morning, we already have Boma booked for breakfast. I think it was meant to be.

MaryAnn, this is getting freaky - my waitlist for AKV just came through, too!!! I'm in a 1BR Standard View the 1st night and a 1BR Savannah View the second night. Since I'm within 7 days of my trip I can't waitlist any more, but I can call and check as often as I want to see if the 1st night has a Savannah View available - so I won't have to move between those two nights. Otherwise, I'll have to move but at least it will be in the same resort, which will make checking out and back in a breeeze.

Liz, I'd love to know the activity that occurs with the cancelling and handing out waitlists. There must be a lot! I was surprised that much of anything comes through after the 31 days.

I lost track...how many different resorts are you staying in, and how many nights in a row in the same resort and/or room? Less than a week! Lucky you!
We got a 1 Bedroom Std View Jambo. I have no idea what that is. I know nothing about AKV; guess I need to start looking into it.

I told DH, who's favorite place to be on the planet is Illuminations, and therefore, staying at BWV or BCV so he can go as many times as possible on a trip (I have to drag him to Fantasmic) that we COULD get back on the waitlist for BWV and/or BCV, but he agreed that we should just stick with what we have. It actually works out for our plans because he wants to do Expedition Everest at night, and eat breakfast at Boma the next day.

Now we're down to two resorts - AKV and SSR - and three moves -unless I can call and get a Savannah view for my first night. Then it would only be two moves!!!

Oh, and DD14's friend has the flu, so it's iffy if she is going to be able to go. She got sick on Monday so we are hopeful, but it might be just DD and I. Everyone will be disappointed, but as I pointed out, we'll be going to WDW for the next 35 years, so we'll just invite her on the next trip!!

We got a 1 Bedroom Std View Jambo. I have no idea what that is.

"Std View" means "Standard View" so your room will face the pool area. You won't have a view of the animals from your balcony but there are lots of places around the resort where you can see them. What you will have is a room not too far from the lobby, the pool area and the restaurants so it should be a convenient location.

You will be on the 5th floor of the Lodge. All of AKV's Value, Standard View and Savanna View villas are on that floor. The entire 6th floor (five 2BR lockoffs) is Concierge.

With EMH at AK and your Boma reservation, it does sound like it was meant to be. Have a great time!
