I had the good fortune of snagging a two bedroom dedicated at SSR from 10/19-10/26 through RCI. I am estatic as the trip might just be DH and I, or either or our out of college and working sons might come , or our still in college daughter and five of her friends might be there for five days of their fall break. With the two bedroom (and using our non-Disney HH timeshare) I don't have to worry about how many people while worrying about wasting (and borrowing ) DVC points.

Anyway, here is my question. We are actually coming in on Friday due to airfare pricing (saved $200 plus on for DH and I). I know our SSR reservation is a 2 bedroom dedicated, so I put in a waiting list at SSR for Friday 10/18 for a two bedroom dedicated using points. I was told they could then try and keep us in the same room, but I know it is not guaranteed. It is 41 points and I only have 46 left for this year that have to be banked by the end of November if not used. I also put in a waitlist for a two bedroom at BCV for 44 points (just because I have never stayed there) that I know probably won't come through, but what the heck.

Here is my question: I only want 1 of the waitlists and I believe that since I said borrowed points could not be used, once one comes through the other will be cancelled. It is also my understanding that I can only have two waitlists going at once. Is this correct? Because I really would take a two bedroom anywhere Friday night if so.

I know my waitlist may not come through and I have a backup reservation for two rooms at the DTD Hilton that I can cancel.

Thanks for the help!

You are correct, you can only have 2 waitlists active at one time. FYI, a dedicated unit and a lock-off 2 bedroom at SSR would be considered 2 waitlists.

IMO you have a good chance of SSR coming through. People booked there as a backup to other resorts and if any come through, that will make SSR available.

You have a good chance of one of the wait lists coming through, but I would not count on the other being automatically cancelled

Exactly. I would call to be sure the remaining wait list was cancelled if one of them comes through. It never hurts to double check, MS and only human, and the computers don't always perform as expected.

But if they matched one and didn't have enough points, they wouldn't confirm it since the OP did not authorize them to borrow points. Or if it got messed up, they would correct it and return the borrowed points to their original status.

OP, your choice of course but personally I'd wait list just the 2 BR dedicated (since that's what you have) and then keep checking on line. If you find a 2 BR lockoff, reserve it then email MS that you still want the WL running but to please cancel the lockoff and use those points if you match. IF you end up with a 1 night and a 7 night dedicated 2 BR (you'll almost certainly get it), you'll have to check in twice but it's very likely you'll be able to stay in the same unit. You should make this request to MS, to the resort when you check in and again the next day when you go to check in again and pay the additional $95 fee to DVC for the exchange. Let us know how this ends up please.

Thanks everyone! If one comes through I will go online and cancel the other just to be safe. My concern is if something bizarre happened and they both were filled overnight the same night while I was sleeping. That is why I said no borrowing in hope that would prevent that from happening.

I am checking online when I can to for any two bedroom anywhere. It is not a big deal where we stay that night, but obviously not having to move would be a plus. If we have to move though it is not a huge deal where we move from and we will just have Disney transfer our luggage.

Thanks for everyone's help and I will let you know what happens!

Our wait list just came through for a two bedroom dedicated at SSR. Took a week. We are now just going to hope we don't have to move rooms.

You should be fine just let them know at check in and the next day when you check in again using RCI points.
