Waitlist...kind of...question

I need to use up some points MS returned during Covid, and booked a last minute (for that resort) Beach Club trip in August. Unfortunately, the night in the middle wasn't available, so I have 1 night at Boardwalk, and 2 separate reservations for Beach Club, on either side of the Boardwalk reservation. I've waitlisted for it, but I want it badly enough to stalk availability instead of just relying on the waitlist request. So...if I see BC available for my date and I try to book it, how would points for it be handled? BC takes 3 more points than my BWV reservation. Do i have to cancel the BW first, keeping fingers crossed the BC doesn't disappear on me in the minute it takes to process? I have enough points available not yet banked to grab the BC if it comes up, but then I'm worried that the returned points if I have to cancel the BW reservation...especially if this happens after my banking deadline. The obvious easy answer would be to just cross my fingers and hope the waitlist comes through....but I'm too desperate to leave this to chance!

When you look for availabilty just do so by modifying the BWV reservation. That way it could use the points from that reservation.

I have a question I think is in the same category, just want to verify - I have a reservation for 4 nights at BWV, my last 2 nights are currently waitlisted. I have the 2 nights I need at Jambo House, but really didn't want to do a split if possible. Is it better for me to wait list each night separately ? Would I even be able to do that or just "stalk" and pray for the waitlist ? I can't modify as I have 2 different contracts points are coming from. Suggestions ?

While theoretically you have a more likely chance of a waitlist matching if you waitlist the two nights separately, do you really want to risk having only the last night matching then needing to transfer resorts twice? (Bwv ->Jambo ->BWV)

If it were me I'd leave the two night waitlist in place, then setup the 2nd waitlist for the first night you'd move to Jambo. If it matches, great! You can then cancel the 2 night waitlist and place 2 waitlists at BWV for the last night, one for the room category you need another for a different view type (better to move within the same resort than need to switch for 1 night)

What I would d the one night that would make it a 5/1 split and still stalk. You can leave the 2 night too.

I would also stalk as well. This way, you may be able to get it!
