Waitlist for 2 linked reservations?

We are hoping to book a kind of last minute long weekend for ourselves and another couple in early May. It's taken a bit of back and forth to determine which weekend works best for us - when we started the discussion there was availability for 1 bedroom villas at BWV - now there isn't availability for the weekend we want at BWV.
I can get two 1 bedrooms at SSR or VWL or OKW - so we can still go - but we were really hoping for our home resort BWV. Question is - if I book somewhere else and waitlist BWV, and if my two reservations are linked (booking two 1 bedroom villas) will the waitlist go through only if both reservations can be moved, or could it go through for one and not the other? I'm guessing it would be separate waitlists which could be a a problem if only one goes through - I don't want us to be at different resorts.
Thanks for any info you can share.
Have a great day!

AFAIK, there is no way to link two separate reservations on a waitlist. It is very possible for one to come through and not the other. It would be very unlikely for both to come through at the same time, so at a minimum, you'd have to "sweat it out" for the second waitlist.

You should call and ask MS to be sure.

This is a very interesting question. I initially thought it would be odd, but then thought about our recent trip with15 people in 2 villas. We were one traveling party but needed 2 villas due to our number. I am sure that there are a decent amount of DVC members that travel with a large group so I would think that a multi-villa wait list with an "all-or-none" stipulation would exist.

Then again, it is probably WAY too much for Disney's IT to handle.

I just spoke with member services - wanted to confirm which resorts have two 1 bedroom villas available for the time we're planing to be there. (Yes, I know 4 of us could stay in a 2 bedroom - but we're traveling with these friends for the first time and think that separate private space to go home to will be a good idea.)
Anyway - I asked about the waitlist and what we all had guessed is correct - far to complex for them to have two reservations linked and only allow them to move off of the waitlist together. Oh well. On to explore our options.
It would be great if they could make that happen - I'm sure there are others with multi-villa reservations who would love to have the waitlist option.
Thanks for your responses.

What about a lock-off 2BR? That is the exact same thing as a studio and a 1BR except you are guaranteed to be right next to each other. You'd save a lot of points but you'd give up the extra W/D, full kitchen and jacuzzi tub...but do you really need 2 kitchens and 2 W/D for 4 people?
