We originally planned to fly out on a Friday night, but with the Southwest sale Saturday night was $112 cheaper times 6 people(no brainer right?). So I booked a 2 bedroom at the VWL and waitlisted BLT (where the first 8 nights of our trip are). I had already sent my Magical express info to Member Services based on the original flight and check-out date.

My questions are:
1- do I change Magical express now with us leaving from VWL a day later and then change it again if my BLT waitlist comes through?

2- or do I just wait until 31 days before the trip when the waitlist expires?

3- do I have a chance for a Friday night standard 2 bedroom in BLT waitlist for Dec?

4- do I stand a better chance of the waitlist coming if I make it a 7 day instead of 31 day expiration?

5- how do 7 day waitlists that replace an existing reservation work in terms of points going into holding? Do the points from the 1 night at VWL go into holding and are they automatically used to book the night at BLT? It's 2 more points for BLT than VWL and I had to authorize MS to borrow those 2 points. I don't want them to borrow all 44 and then be left with 42 in holding.

Thanks in advance for your help. This is only our second reservation and while I think I've got down borrowing, banking, etc- I don't remember the nuances of waitlisting and holding points.

If the wait list is matched, points from the original reservation are used first. They would then borrow additional points if authorized.
