Waitlist at VWL

We are going to OKW this June and I just called member services to see if some of those nights could be spent at VWL instead. They put me on the waitlist, supposedly for 2, 3 or 4 of the nights at the beginning.

I am a little nervous. First, I doubt the waitlist will come through. Like my husband says, "The economy is bad and travel is down but the DVC nuts like us keep going!" I was surprised that all the studios (at Boardwalk and Beach Club, too) were completely full!

What I really fear is that they will somehow screw up and give me nights "in the middle " of my week and I will have to move to OKW and then back again! Can anyone report their waitlist experiences? I need to hear some GOOD stories! They couldn't tell me where I was on the list -- first or millionth.

I was on the wait list for an OKW studio for one of my nights in May. I was put on the wait list yesterday afternoon and am on the phone with MS right now confirming the call that the wait list came trough today.

I have wait listed twice. Once last year to adjust the dates we wanted. I set it up to change automatically as it became available as we were far enough out the airfare wasn't booked yet. The change went through two days later.

I wait listed a few weeks ago to make a change to an early May trip (changed from studio to 1bdrm at VWL). I set it up to call me before changing as I needed to figure out where I was getting the points from. They called me two days later. I decided to rent points from someone rather than borrow mine and they let me call back within 24 hours to complete the deal.

Both worked very well, and quickly. Maybe I got lucky...maybe you will too!!
