First DVC reservation!

Booked a 6 night 2 br OKW stay in September, but waitlisted the same dates but at an OKW near HH 2 br.

2 questions:

1) I saw in some old posts that people were losing FPP/ADR when waitlist come through. Is that still happening? 2 of the 4 adults also have annual passes if that matters at all.

2) What are cons of making waitlist last until 7 days rather than 31 days?

TIA! So excited for our first trip as members!

You will never lose an ADR on a waitlist. ADRs are completely separate from resort reservations save in the initial 180+ booking period.

Yeah you will not lose any ADRs. Not sure what FPP is unless you are referring to Fast Passes, in which case they should not be effected either. The con to 7 day window is that you cannot cancel the reservation free and clear like you could at 31 days. If you cancel inside of 30 days your points go into holding. I would explain that, but there are plenty of threads and information on the Member Services website if you aren't already familiar with it. It is a bit confusing. Either way, you are going regardless so keeping active until 7 days out won't affect you. Pro Tip: If you call Member Services on the 7 Day window and request to keep it open until 24 hours prior, they usually will. You being a new member with first trip, I almost guarantee they will take care of you and your request.

While this would not apply to your WL as OKW and OKW HH area are the same points. But if your WL will be using less points, the difference will go into holding if done inside the 30 day mark. Not always obvious when you WL with 7 day.

I have never lost Fast Passes when I changed reservations. Matter of fact, DH and I had to cancel our Memorial Day weekend trip and the Fast passes I had booked for that were still there even after I had canceled.
