Waitlist 7 days mid trip

I booked BRV 2 bedroom for 9 nights in january. waitlist came through for a night at BWV boardwalk view for the last night of our trip I modified my reservation and set another waitlist for the night before, expiring 31 days before arrival.

Dashboard looks like this:
1- Jan 8-15 BRV - booked
2- Jan 15-16 BRV - booked
3- Jan 15-16 BWV - waitlisted
4- Jan 16-17 BWV - booked

Is it safe to modify it for 7 days before arrival? It should expire on Jan 8 and thats our check in day. Has anyone been in this situation before? I know chances are slim to none but I want to keep it in case some magic happens last minute. If it doesn't I will have a "split" stay at BRV and may need to move rooms.

The problem with the 7 day waitlist is that you won’t be able to cancel the BRV night at that point without ending up with holding points.

You’d have to set it up so the waitlist actually replaces the night you have and because it’s part of a larger reservation, you’d have to make sure that MS put in a note that you only want that one night replaces.

If you set it up to just fill, and not replace then you’d want to end at 31 days so you don’t end up with holding

I booked that night alone so I can replace it. The point difference is 1 point and BWV is actually more so I wont end with holding point. I just dont know if a waitlist can fulfill after checking in at the first resort

I missed it was booked by itself. You could set it then for 7 days but call a few days before the trip to see if it has a match and if not cancel.

This way you do get most of the extra time.

Once you check in and the 15th is connected to the other nights , it wouldn’t be able to be processed.

I booked BRV 2 bedroom for 9 nights in january.

When you check in, you should also indicate at BRV that the last BRV night is a continuing reservation. They should be able to keep you in the same room. They usually try to. (unless your waitlist has matched by then!)
