Waiting patiently (NOT) for our Grand Gathering trip in 4 days!

17 days...getting closer....

All is set up for the fridge swap...
Suitcases are out and ready to be filled...
House/Dog sitter is set :dog2: .....
Note cards are complete for park days....
Window decorations for POP are done....
Photo shoot is booked.....
ADRs finalized....

Still need to order bday cake for Shark and Castle cake for Bear.....
Still need to pack :laundy: .......
Still need to place order with Garden Grocer......

Finally the "to do" list is shorter then the done list.

Ordered Shark's bday cake today from WL in-room dining since our cruise will go out of the WL marina. It got a 10" round yellow cake with chocolate mousse filling and chocolate buttercream frosting. They don't do any special designs there. I had to order the 10" cake to get personalization so that what I got. It will just say Happy 11th Birthday Shark! It cost $45. More then I would pay for a cake around here but it is Disney. I also ordered decaf coffee & tea, hot chocolate and milk. They supply plates, napkins, silverware, etc. plus box to take leftovers back.

I also called the GF Bakery and ordered the mini castle with white cake and vanilla cream frosting for Bear to be delivered to her at 1900 Park Fare when she has dinner with my mom on Tuesday night. So check those off the list.

Looks like just packing and Garden gorcer order left to do.....

Sooo... What DO you pack for a December Trip???:confused3
The Average temps. are 75 during the day and 55 at night.
But the temperatures have been running below average lately.
Next weeks forecast says 65-70 during the day and
40's at night brrrr....
Maybe you won't even need shorts or bathing suits...:sad2:
I think it would be the worst time of the year for packing...
Have to pack everything....

:scared1: just saw the weather for here...
They said a chance of SNOW Monday, Tuesday and Thursday...
Only 30's for a high...

Placed order this morning with Garden Grocer for delivery on arrival day. So check that off the list. :thumbsup2

All that is left is :laundy: and packing....

We are waiting until a few days before the trip so we can see most of the days forecast to actually finalize the packing. I have turned our laundry room in packing central with all of the might need items so they are ready to go, everything from bathing suits to long sleeve shirts/sweatshirts and mittens/hats for at night. Especially with the wishes cruise since I heard it can be windy on the lake we needed heavier clothes. Luckily, we can bring up to 7 suitcases for free so we have extra room if necessary. But I really don't want to bring that much since there isn't a lot of extra space in the room to store the suitcases.

I was not happy to see SNOW in our forecast for next week but I will be happy to see Snow during the MVMCP. :santa:

I just placed my order this morning, here is my list:

Pepsi Cola 18 Pack 12oz. Cans
Pepsi Diet 8 Pack of 12oz. Cans
Pringles Potato Chips Original Twin Pack 2 6oz. Cans 12oz. Total
Gatorade Classic Lemonade 8PK of 20oz. Bottles
Kellogg's Pop-Tarts Frosted Brown Sugar Cinnamon 8CT 14oz. Box
Bananas Green (Turning) 12
Apples Fuji 6
International Delight Creamer French Vanilla 32oz. BTL
Store Brand Coffee Filters Basket Style 200CT
Store Brand Milk 2% Reduced Fat 1/2 GAL 64oz. CTN-2
Nestle Juicy Juice Apple 8CT of 6.75oz. EA
Yoplait Gogurt Strawberry Splash and Berry Blue 8CT 2.25oz. EA
Nabisco Chips Ahoy Chocolate Chip Cookies 16oz. PKG
Aquafina Flavor Splash Wild Berry 6PK of 16.9oz. Bottles
Nabisco Graham Crackers Original 14.4oz Box
Gatorade Lemon Lime 32oz. BTL-3
Gatorade Fruit Punch 32oz. BTL-3
Propel Fitness Water Berry 16.9oz. Bottles 6PK
Aquafina Drinking Water 16.9oz. 32PK BTLS
Bounty Mega Roll Paper Towels 160 2-Ply White 1CT

With delivery, it was $115 which is a lot considering we are on deluxe dining but again, it is Disney type pricing on many of the items. My MIL is diabetic so she requested certain items such as the bananas  and graham crackers so she didn't have to bring from home. Dave and my FIL are big Pepsi drinkers plus MIL wanted Diet. My kids don't drink soda so they requested the waters and juices plus a few snacks. With 8 people, I think it will all be used up quickly. The coffee filters and paper towels are to add to the swap. Garden Grocer has pretty much anything you might need for vacation even sun block and pool stuff. For the $15 delivery fee, I think it is a good deal especially with Disney hotel prices for these items plus we are using ME so we won't have car to stop and get groceries.

Hope it helps.

They have some nice matching Snowflake Red Mickey sweaters :santa:
for everyone at Disneyshopping...:rotfl:

Bear has the Minnie Christmas sweater to wear, I doubt Shark and Dave would go for that Matchy look.

We are planning on driving unless we get a HUGE sale on airfare, since we are paying for 7 of our 8 travelers, lol. So we will have a car, but I just was trying to get an idea of what we might need, lol. We will not have ANY room to bring extras, as a matter of fact, I am planning on shipping a few things, lol.

Thanks for the inside info! LOL

How long a drive is it to WDW from Michigan?

We are guessing around 20 hrs, we are going to try to do a majority of that at night so we dont have a lot of traffic and MAYBE the kids will sleep, lol.

Last time we drove, not counting stops, it was about 22 hours from Grand Rapids to Tampa.

My DH drove home from California after 9/11 in just 3 days but I don't think I would want to drive from CT to WDW with the kids unless we had to. It makes it easier with the video system in the car. :happytv:

Yeah, it's not a fun drive. I did it with Jacques when he was about 3 months old, and it wasn't fun. That 22 hours turned into about 30 hours.

Flying is so much easier!

You are getting SO CLOSE! :dance3:

Yeah we flew last time and that fast 3 hrs was GREAT! LOL Well I am a paniced flier but WAY better than the 18-20 we are anticipating! AHH!

I agree thank goodness for video systems!!!! It will be soo needed with all 5 kids in one van, lol.

You are soo close! I am sooo excited for you!
