Waiting on Seller....

How long did it take everyone for the seller to return their paperwork to the title company? It's been 2 weeks since our paperwork (and check) was sent to the title company. I'm trying to be patient here, but it's frustrating having our money tied up in escrow with nothing to show for it!

Mine ranged from same day to one week. Two weeks is a long time for the initial contract (since they don't need to get it notarized), but the seller could have something going on or, if it's a divorce situation, it could take a bit to get both people to sign. Did you follow up with the broker? They should be able to follow up with the seller and get an idea on when the contract will be returned.

You don't know when the seller was sent the contract and/or if at all. They may have the flu, be on vacation, have other things going on, need to get docs notarized. They may live in another country and/or have to go to a consulate for signing. What does your broker say?

The title company informed me that the seller was "returning the documents this week" so i'm hopeful that the paperwork will be received and can close by the end of this week, early next. However, I know the sellers have had the paperwork for two weeks now. If it was me, I'd want my money asap! :)

Many find it hard to part with anything and they may have to visit a notary, can be hard to do when both are working.

Totally understand that - hardest part for us was getting to the bank to get a check (had to be on a Saturday or a day my DH worked from home).

.....and in the midst of my griping here, got the email that the deed was returned and it should close by the end of this week!!

Sometimes I wonder if it’s the title company... after 4 weeks of hearing nothing between Disney passing on ROFR, I finally emailed asking what the heck was up. All the sudden my closing docs were sent out that day. I returned them 2 business days later and the day they received them, I got an email saying we closed. Makes me think title sent only the seller docs and they had been sitting there signed the entire time without sending me anything. Don’t rule out other parties holding it up instead of the seller.

I always recommend buyers and/or sellers contacting the associate they are working with for their transaction. Typically at The Timeshare Store, Inc.® the associates are more deeply involved with the buyer or seller and have the most details on when buyer or seller plans on retiring their final documents. Please never hesitate to ask your associate to get to the bottom of when the other party is returning.

Yup. This.

Sometimes the title company screws up the paperwork. Not that they would ever tell the buyer that. Ask me how I know. Hint: I've sold contracts. LOL

I am waiting now to close with the Time Share Store. I have sent in everything I needed to and I am now just waiting on the seller to finish up. (I assume) Would love for it to be completed by this weekend, but I am patient.
