Waiting in ride lines with a non-rider

I'm planning a Disneyland trip with my mom, who is very motion sensitive. Since I like riding the big rides, I was wondering if it's possible for her to wait with me in ride lines and then step aside when it's my turn to ride? In Disney World she usually waited outside the rides for me, but I felt bad leaving her alone by herself and not knowing when I would be done riding.

At Harry Potter World in Orlando she went through the Forbidden Journey queue with me and was able to exit through a different door in the area where I got on the ride. Is this possible at any (or most) rides at Disneyland?

Also, do people think she will be okay on the Cars ride? She's fine on Test Track, so I'm assuming so but I don't want her to be caught by surprise.

Thanks

Yep, she can do that with any ride. When you get to the loading area just have her tell the cast member she's not riding and they'll show her to the chicken exit.

Radiator Springs Racers is the same ride system as Test Track.

If she goes through the line with you, she'll be able to see what there is in the que. Some of them are very detailed and entertaining. Plus you'll be together for the main portion. There are exits available at the loading zone for the rides. The CM's will point the way.

Love this. So sweet to want her not to be alone waiting for you. And good point by another poster- often there is so much to see in the que

Thanks for this! I, too, have motion sickness and my BFF doesn't. I usually shop when she's riding the rides I can't which is fine by me, but I've always wondered about doing the queue on ST with her. I haven't ridden it since probably 2004 and I understand it's been 'plussed' since then.

Just out of curiosity, if anybody knows, she usually uses FP for ST. Does the FP queue bypass most or a lot of the queue? Would it be worth tagging along?

It's totally fine. I tagged along with my husband for the Star Tours queue and just told any CM who asked how many that only my husband would be riding and that I'd take the chicken exit. No problems at all.

I've done this with my kids. They all wanted to ride BTMRR again, and I didn't. They were old enough to ride alone but I felt better about going through the line with them. At the loading I exited and they rode.

You see all the good parts in the FP queue for Star Tours.

Yes you can. My son and I had no intention of riding GOTG in October as we didn't have our Dramamine, but we wanted to see the inside of the queue. They let us "chicken" out right as we got to the elevators to load us.

This is great to know because last time I would've loved to take my daughter through the GOTG queue but she had no intention of riding it. I'll definitely take her through it this time!

On Test Track vs Radiator Springs Racers, I personally find RSR more intense because of the "bunny" hills at the end, it creates a much more intense drop feeling for me. Love Test Track multiple times, can only do RSR one time every once in a while.

We did this often when my kids were younger and one of them wasn't ready to go on the attraction yet. We'd go through the queue, and if he still wasn't ready he would cross the vehicle to the other side, and the other one and I would ride. We never had an issue.

Yes.

And OP you can do that at Wdw, too.

This only works at Disney parks for kids that are tall enough for the ride FYI.

At Uni they let *everyone* go through the line. Not Disney.

And they do exit. They don’t have a waiting area.

GOTG’s exit will be an elevator. Just like it was when it was TOT.
