Waiting in ride line, can we all wait but one ride at a time?

My DH and I are taking our DS to Disney in October. DS is only going to be 2 so of course he won't be able to ride all the rides DH and I want to ride. Is it possible for us all to go through the line, I ride while he watches DS, then come back and DH ride? Or does DH have to go through the line again himself. This is probably a silly question but we've never been with children.

NO you don't have to wait in line twice. All get in line toegehter, then the first person gets to ride, then when they are done, they hold the child and then you get to ride. It is called the Baby Swap....jsut let someone know when you are in line that is what you are going to do.

have child swap options where you can do just as you mentioned. The actual procedure may vary somewhat from ride to ride. Just ask the CM at the line entrance so you know what the proper procedure is for that particular line.

Some other rides (EE, Mission Space and Test Track) have single rider lines so parents can entertain the kid(s) some way and the other can go in shorter lines.

Here's a link on child swaps:

If there are only two of you and the one child it would probably be easiest to use fast passes. When it's your time one parent can go through the fast pass line while the other waits with the baby and then the other can go through the fast pass line. That way no one will really be waiting in line-- most of the FP lines are only a few minutes long or you walk right on.

We have 3 kids (one too small to ride some of the rides), so it was necessary for us to use rider switch passes so that both parents would get to experience the rides with the older kids.

Actually only one of you needs to wait in the line. Both of you should go to the start of the queue and tell the castmember you want to use child swap. This is a win-win-win situation since your group doesn't have an impatient child in tow who can't ride and the people around you don't either! The child can be entertained outside the line doing something else.

The adult who waits with the child is given a paper pass and the other person goes through the line. You can go do what you want with the child while the other person waits in line. Look for your spouse at the exit after the estimated wait time for the attraction. You will then swap the child and ride the attraction without waiting. The second person enters through the exit with your pass at most (if not all attractions) where this is offered.

My DD's are now 11 and 14 so we haven't used child swap in years. At that time, only one person needed a FP so you could get through a lot of rides quickly!
