What is the etiquette for waiting in line for Trader Sam's before opening? Would it be ok for me to wait alone while my family is at the pool (we're staying at Poly)? I know that's not considered ok when waiting in line for attractions but I'm hoping this is different.

So if I go line up at 3:30 and my family joins me at 4:00, is this acceptable?

they will come around and give you a buzzer. so just tell them how many people there are in your party when they do that. However I must say that I have never seen anyone inside Trader Sam's wearing a swimsuit...is it allowed?

My family was first in line at 3:30 recently. They ask how many and take a phone # and say they will text you but the hostess suggested one of us stay right there in the line. We took turns doing that while others used the rest room and sat down for a few minutes. We had just come from MK. It looked like most people just stayed in line. At a few minutes to 4 we all gathered together in the line. Our text came a couple of minutes after 4 so not sure how that would have really worked for us if we had left the line.

When we were waiting, there were several people inline ahead of us that were one or to people reserving for a group of 8-10.
They took a name and your cellphone number to text you when it was time to come back. If you are in the front part of the line, you want to be back in line about 5 minutes before opening. Doesn't matter where in line.
They will send you a text, but also call out your name. If you aren't there quickly, they go to the next name on the list. When its full, they quit letting people in and you have to wait for someone to leave. They do not do standing room, everyone is at a table, bar, etc.
It is much smaller inside that you would expect. But really fun and worth the wait.

I'm sure if your family members are dressed in keeping with the policy you'll be fine. Course I'd try ensure the other members of the party were at the table w/i 15 minutes of the beep. So much more polite to the eatery and other guests.

We were told your entire party must be there before they will let your group in. They don't have to be there to get on the reservation list, but must be present for the group to enter. Coming from the pool, I would be sure everyone meets whatever the posted dress code is. don't recall what that is. But I suspect swimsuits isn't part of it.

What have the waits been like recently? Is getting there at 3:30 sufficient enough to get in right when it opens at 4? Will be there in September if that helps! Thanks!
