We are planning a vacation in september. My wife and i are planning a special night w/o the kids at the california grill. We did this once before, about 3 years ago, and got to the resteraunt at about 6:15 for ADR of 7:15 and waited about an hour for magic kingdom window seats. I just read a forum about the rose and crown and 2 people said that you cannot wait for pattio seats at the rose and crown. So my question is two fold 1) is this a new rule park wide or 2) is this just a rule at the rose and crown?

My only other thought is that the person that made the reservation for the rose and crown made it for 6:55 and would check in on time and wait until after there ADR unlike us who get there really early and wait until our ADR and we would hopefully be seated about on time.

Thanx in advance for any responses

Not sure about California Grill. I've only eaten there a few times and so far have always requested and received a window table (with the last time, being this past Dec). Now at Rose & Crown that's a whole different ball game. The last three times I've eaten there, I've requested an outside table and have been told that we must accept the first table available for our party size. Once I've gotten a patio table and twice I've had to be seated inside. When I've politely asked to wait until an outside table is available, I've been told I can't and we can either accept the table inside or cancel our ADR. They have said that too many people request the patio tables and so they no longer allow waiting for them. They are polite, but very firm about this. Up until a couple of years ago, we've always been able to wait. We always arrive early to our ADRs, by the way.

thanx for your response...i think we will stick to our plan and if they tell us that they no longer do that then we will just wait til our normal time and then be seated where ever. The plan was always to sit at the bar until our seats become available so its not really that big of a deal.
