Is there a place to wait in the shade for the Nemo Show at AK? My DM will be using an ECV, but really needs to also be in the shade. Is there somewhere for her to wait other than in the very sunny line? Also, when is the show usually performed in Sept. (last week)? We will try to hit the earliest in the am.

You could purchase a canopy for her ECV, I have seen them on many of the chairs and they provide a respite from the sun! I have also seen clip on fans on them...

We did the canopy thing last time too and for long bouts of being in the sun, it wasn't quite enough. I think our only trouble will be the Nemo line and would like to keep her in the shade while she's waiting.

I'd suggest a canopy (some of the ECV rental companies rent ones with canopies).
As of now, there is no shade in the line, but the rest of your family could wait in the line and she and one other person could wait outside of the line. Once you get closer to the front, she can join you.
When we went in April, the line was marked off with ropes, but there were several points where the ropes had 'breaks' in them where she would be able to join you.

We usually turn DD's wheelchair so that her back is to the sun and we also stand around her to act as kind of human sunshields while we are waiting.

I know there are lots of complaints about the sunny wait in line for the Nemo show (and not just from people with disabilities), so I would not be surprised to see them do something about that line in the future.

IF you're on property you could also take advantage of the evening EMH which is usually on Wed- this way the sun will be down or at least not so blazing during the time you'd be waiting for the show, plus there would be far fewer crowds so probably not much of a wait or worry that the show will fill to capacity. There really isn't any place to wait out of the shade, and as Sue said many have complained- hopefully improvements will be made to make the waiting area more comfortable.---Kathy

I haven't done this yet with an EVC. Is there a seperate line at Nemo? How hard is it to navigate with an evc? When you get inside where do you sit with the evc??

Dad can transfer but some of the walks are so long and uneven it gets difficult. Would we better parking the eVC?? Where do you park it??

No, there is not a separate line. The line is a straight line that goes along the ouside of the Boneyard and DinoLand area (along the side where TricerTop Spin is. You wait in line with everyone else until about 40 feet from the building. At that point, there is a CM who counts people going into the area (so they have the right number of people for the space in the theater). That CM pulls the parties with wheelchairs and ECVs off at that point. They will ask if you can transfer or not and then direct you accordingly. Inside the theater, there are spaces for wheelchairs and ECVs to park next to some seats for the rest of your party to sit. The seats are wood benches with backs. Most of the handicapped seating is in the back row, but there are a few spots halfway down the theater also.
The view from the back is good. There is an aisle behind that back row and then a set of bleachers with benches without backs. There is also some standing room only area, but people are not allowed to stand right behind the wheelchair row.
