cseca, if you are out there, please don't forget to post your experience at the Annabella. After pochahontas's bad experience I am a bit worried.

I'm at the Anabella right now and having a horrible time here! I'll post my review as soon as I can. Right now I hope to ride Screamin' in a half an hour so can't go into detail! (See my previous post about Screamin')

Sorry I couldn't post my experience earlier.
Anabella hotel was not a bad experience for me.
It's not the greatest but not bad for the price (AAA pricing from their website).

I checked in at 11pm on thursday and they had me assigned to a non smoking room (which I really really need) and that was great.
The room was in the far corner of the 4000 building on the first floor.
It is a standard room, clean, with refrigerator, a couple tvs, a desk with chair and a couch.
They also have a coffee maker with the usual coffee packages.
The only bad thing I can say about the room is the windows behind the bed actually overlooks some sort of a fence area where they keep their towel carts or something. Oh, one more thing, the carpet was a bit icky. So I walked around with sandals in my room.
But hey, I didn't stay in the room long enough so it's not a big deal.

They have a business center with 3 computers and will let you use it to print out boarding pass without charge.
However, if you want to work in there they will charge you $6. Not sure if that's a day or an hour tho.

I can't say anything about their restaurants since I didn't use it.
There are 2 restaurants right in the crossings of Katella and Disneyland Dr, so worse comes to worst you can go there to eat.

The walk from my room to the entrance of DL if you walk from Katella to Disneyland Dr, cross thru GC, DD then to the entrance took me about 15~20min. Depending on how fast I felt like walking.
The walkway was lit up (not too brightly) and clean (I did see a gigantuan rat crossing the walkway at night which scared the bejeebers out of me).

Anyways, overall the stay was OK.
Clean room, clean bathroom,
The only problem I found was if I need anything from the front desk (computer room pass, information, etc.) I usually have to wait awhile because there's usually a line of people.

I also overheard a couple people checking in on saturday who didn't have the room they requested available because they were overbooked. So they had to do some musical rooms of some sort I think.

Let me know if you have any specific questions. I will try to answer you as best as I could.

I stayed at the Annabella a few DL trips ago and I wouldn't stay there again. Here's why...

I was traveling with a group of 7. We booked 2 connecting rooms with 2 double/queen beds each. We arrived at the hotel to find that all they had for us were rooms that had a queen bed and then a roll-a-way in a seperate room/area. The rooms were not connecting and having a roll-a-way doesn't make up for the lack of a double/queen bed. We figured we'd have bed space for 8 and only had enough space for 6, so 1 had to be on the floor.

We supposedly had continental breakfast. When we got to the dining room they were very snooty and acted like we shouldn't even be there. I don't like feeling substandard. There was a group there for a convention, so they wouldn't even let us eat there (even though there were empty tables, we had to take it back to our room. They were very rude and said okay, here is what you can have with your continental breakfast--one bread and one fruit and one drink.

Anytime we came in contact with staff, we were treated poorly. Hello people, this is a hotel by Disneyland, there are going to be families staying here so maybe they should cater a little more to the families who are paying to stay there. We talked to a few other families and they felt the same way. The only people who received good service were the convention goers who didn't have kids with them.

My recommedation, if you're traveling with any children, stay somewhere a little more family friendly!

Thanks everyone for your reviews. Gosh I don't know what to do if the Annabella is not kid friendly, we do have a 14yr old. I expect that we will be driving to the DL parking lot from wherever we stay and then taking a shuttle to the gates so the location is not a big deal. I guess the only way to make it even easier would be to stay in a hotel with its own shuttle but with us leaving in just under a month, probably won't be able to get anywhere with their own shuttle for the $89.00 that the Annabella is charging and their pool looks great - did anybody get a chance to try out the pool, is it heated, do people even swim in November in California?

Candy Cane Inn (candycaneinn dot net) is a great hotel. Price is about $92/night. They have their own shuttle, and it is also walking distance from DL. Great continental breakfast, clean rooms, comfy beds, great service, nice pool & hot tub. Albianne, any way you can switch reservations to the Candy Cane?

I second the Candy Cane Inn recommendation, I stayed there Sept 17-24, and LOVED every bit of it! The staff were superb, the grounds spotless, and like Vanvmom said, FREE dedicated shuttle, and it runs every half an hour.

Unfortunately the CCI is booked up for most of our 10 day stay according to their website but I will call first thing in the morning and ask them in person.

Can anyone who has stayed at the Annabella recently tell me if they have any kind of breakfast included. I have read some past reviews that mentioned brk. but no mention of it in recent reviews or on their website. I know that there is a restaurant on site to buy brk. but not sure about any kind of free continental like some of the other hotels.

Hi folks! I am sorry if I scared a few people with my review, but I at least wanted people to know of our horrible experience. I wish we would have read tripadvisor.com before booking...there's a ton of bad reviews (although most places do have some bad reviews, this place seemed to have a lot). It also appears that of all the buildings there is one that is significantly nicer than the rest, we unfortunately were not in that building. Our room was horrible and it was called a Jr. Suite. It was awful. At least my family looks at it now and laughs because it was such a bad experience.

My suggestion would be to stay someplace else...there are so many other places that are in the same price range and are better.
