My DS14 went on his first audition for a paying job on Thursday. It was a voice over audition. He got great feedback from the woman conducting the audition, and the sound guy. He came out feeling good. He says based on their reaction, he thinks he will get a call back. (I know this is not certain, it's just how he feels)

My friend has a daughter who has done some voice over work, and she said it takes a couple of days, because they have to go through everyone and listen to their voice, and match them with the other characters, to get a good match. That takes some time. She also said they DO NOT work weekends.

The poor kid, everytime he came in the house, he would ask "did the phone ring? Did anyone call?"

I am so excited for him. Even if he doesn't get it, it was a great experience.

Good luck! That is so cool!

Can you tell me how your son got involved in voice over? My son (12) has some very unique voices. He can imitate the different voices he hears on commercials and he has his own voices he does as well. He always jokes that he is going to be the voice for the Geiko gecko when he gets older. Long ago, I did a little research and made some calls but the only people I could find were those that wanted to train him for singing. He is not a singer and doesn't have any intention of becoming one so we never looked into it further.

Best of luck to your son!
