Wait time if a ride is down?

If a ride that we want DAS for is down at the time we are trying to book it, it will show no wait time. Since DAS is based on current wait time, does that mean we cannot book that ride until it goes back up?
Also a clarification on what happens when a ride you are booked for goes down - Say I am booked for 2PM and the ride goes down at 1PM - does that give me an anytime return or only if it is still down after 2PM?
One more - am I reading it correctly that if the ride goes down when my time hits we get an anytime return for that ride (or a multi experience) and then that ride does not count and I can immediatly book another ride and still have that one for later?

Correct. If nobody can enter the standby queue, nobody can obtain a DAS Return Time until it reopens.

Only if still down at your Return Time. It may come back up before then and you may enter as planned.

If the ride is down, they often don‘t know when (or even if) it will be back up again. So, they don’t issue DAS Return Times or Genie times until they know it will be back.
Attractions do go down during the day, often just for fairly short times. A downtime shouldn’t affect your DAS Return Time unless it’s down at that time or your time is in the future and they know the ride is down for the rest of the day.

We had a DAS Return Time for Remy and were inside the attraction when it went down and was not expected to come back up anytime soon. We were almost to the place where guests collect 3D glasses when the CM told us they were walking us out. As we passed thru to the unload/exit area, announcements were made to have your tickets/Magicbands ready to be scanned. We received an ‘anytime, any attraction‘ pass as went thru. I’ve heard that people with DAS Return Times/ILL times who had not already scanned got it automatically added to their ticket/Magicband.
