Wait the Blizzard wasn't in my plans! A January 2016 TR. Updated 4/20 Day 4 Animal Kingdom

Yes, my 3.5 year old is still required to be strapped in her stroller in airports. We also fly fairly often, but she is a runner. And people in airports make no attempt to intercept! Your boy's interests sound almost identical to mine. Just swap Oswald for Sorcerer Mickey and Bay Max for more Star Wars. I forget what your DD likes... It wasn't Frozen, was it? :D My girls have not been into princesses, but I am nurturing my YDD's love for Anna to satisfy my girly side. Unfortunately, she now thinks she herself is a princess, which is getting old quick.

It took us about 10 seconds to realize she wasn't there. Fortunately she was easy to spot in the tie-dye shirt when I ran outside and I yelled her name and freeze. She didn't hear me the first time, but the second time she startled looked around and came running back. I then had 1 very upset child, because she realized she had almost gotten lost at EPCOT and 2 very relieved parents because she hadn't gotten lost at EPCOT.
So glad you were able to catch her in time! eek!!!!

The girl child is pretty good about not being too annoying about being a princess. We did have to add in a number of books where princesses saved themselves or their kingdom or the prince for awhile though. She hit the knight or prince must save me, I can't save myself stage for awhile around 3 1/2 and 4. I really like Frozen because the princess and queen do save themselves. I also like Rapunzel since it has a similar theme. I'd push Brave if any of mine were willing to watch it past the mother turning into a bear, which is where they have all declared it too scary.

So glad you were able to catch her in time! eek!!!!

Yep it definitely got the adrenaline pumping. Fortunately we figured out she wasn't with us quickly and were able to get her before she disappeared from view.

Joining in-I just love your family photo in front of the Nemo and friends!!!

Day 2: EPCOT, Part 2: Agent P!
January 13, 2016

So we had just finished off rescuing minion 3 from disappearing. At that point everyone was pretty hungry and it was around noon. I had put 2 possible lunch options down for us, either Sunshine Seasons or Yorkshire Fish and Chips in UK. We weren't quite finished with Future World yet, and we were right next to The Land so Sunshine Seasons it was. We moved our stroller, we only had one at this point, one parking area over, and headed into the land. I looked at the poor closed Soarin' area and we headed to get lunch.

We had a mild discussion about lunch, I wanted minion 3 to get the adult salmon, he wanted the kid one, and I wasn't sure that minion 2 would really like the uncrustable sandwich, plus no way to share that meal. Either way both minions 2 and 3 ended up with their choices. Minion 1 decided to go with the adult salmon which worked since it meant attriel could share with him. Attriel also got an extra order of mashed potatoes, to fill out his meal. I ended up with the Caesar salad, no chicken. It was overdressed, but decent. We sat and ate at the tables. It wasn't overly busy so it wasn't that hard to find a table for all of us to sit at.

ss_des.jpg

All in all we were all happy with our meals. After eating we decided to do a ride on living with the land. The wait was around 10 minutes, but was really closer to 5 minutes at that point. We all sat and enjoyed our ride.

living_land_cuc.jpg

After our ride minion 1 decided he really wanted to see the Circle of Life show. The boys all headed over to watch it. Minion 2 had no interest and having seen it before, I was fine with just sitting on a bench and waiting for the boys. After the show was over, which attriel had a nice nap during, we headed towards the World Showcase and the Agent P game. We checked the character spot, but the line was still to long so we decided against it. We decided to go to the Visa meet and greet instead. There was no line at all and we were quickly inside meeting Mickey Mouse and Goofy!

visa_meet.jpg

After our visit we Mickey and Goofy which was fun and the kids all loved, we headed to the central area between Future World and the World Showcase. We stopped at the pin store and bought the kids lanyards. I had bought them each some pins for trading before we came and we also bought 2 sets of the villians pins for them to trade as well. We set up their pin lanyards, minion 1 traded his first pin and we headed to the Agent P area. We then traded a few more pins and began the Agent P game. We had a choice of Chine, United Kingdom or Mexico for our starting points. We decided to go with United Kingdom this time. We headed that way and saw a photopass photographer. Following the rule of never skipping a photopass photo if there was no line we got our first EPCOT pictures with the ball.

epcot_shot.jpg

We also got a magic shot.
sully_magic.jpg

After getting our pictures we headed back toward the UK and our mission from Perry.

perry_des.jpg

The kids all explored. They ended up stuck in a phonebooth.
kids_uk_phonebooth.jpg

We visited a teashop, since it was tea, and who doesn't like tea? Attriel got a Harp beer in a souvenir mug, he wasn't a huge fan, it was a bit too light for him. He liked the mug though.
harp.jpg

We visited the gardens behind the tea shop, and found another random photopass photographer. I got a couple of pictures with minion 3.
me_sul_uk.jpg

We also found Mary Poppins. There was no photopass photographer there, but I got my own pictures.
mary_poppins.jpg

And we eventually finished the Agent P game. The kids all had fun. Looking at the time though we didn't have enough time to do a second mission that day. We headed back towards the front of the park to do our Test Track FP+. Which I will continue with in the next post.

Oh my gosh, the photo of the 3 kids in front of Epcot....so precious!! Melts my heart!!:flower:The three of them in the phone booth is pretty darn cute, too!

You are so smart to prioritize Perry mission. Now that my DS has discovered it, it has become a huge draw. Putting it off meant a half finished mission, which I feel guilty about. Great photos! I have the same rule on PP pictures. Is it just me, or is Mary sneering?

Thanks :).

We actually did a couple of hours at EPCOT on Saturday just to do Perry. Once we started the mission we realized we had to prioritize the mission if we wanted to get them done in a reasonable time frame. Minion 1 loved these, so we ended up doing them on 3 different days, and if we had, had an extra day to add to our ticket he probably would have made attriel go one more day to do more.

following along!

Welcome :).

So looking at my pictures, I really think there was a photopass for Mary Poppins, but I don't have the pictures. Now I'm confused, I need to check and see if attriel remembers. If he does I will contact the photopass site and see if I can get them recovered. I got one of the 2 sets of other photos that I know are missing recovered. I may need to resend in for the last set, because I've heard nothing about it.

Day 2: EPCOT, Part 3: Chef Mickey's, We're meeting our character friends!
January 13, 2016

After finishing off our first Perry mission, we decided we didn't really have time for a second one. We turned in our Fone, remember kid's it is phone on a spelling test, as our trainer told us, and headed out of the World Showcase. I did want to explore a bit more, but we had evening plans and we wanted to make sure we would make them in time. It was around 4 when we finished Perry I believe. We had a FP+ for Test Track from 4 to 5. I had made it figuring it would be a good end for our first park day at EPCOT.

We headed back towards the hub and found a photopass photographer. Remembering my rule, we stopped for some pictures. Minion 3, was not interested in pictures, so I just got some pictures of me with minions 1 and 2 and of each of them. This was our first of many tinkerbelle shots. Minions 1 and 2 were great at their shock and awe faces by the end of the trip.
des_magic.jpg

e_magicshot.jpg

After the photopass we saw that Daisy would be in her spot soon and the line wasn't bad. We grabbed a spot in line. Since we were doing Chef Mickey's that night, we weren't too worried about seeing most of Mickey and friends, but we knew Daisy won't be there, so we didn't want to miss out on a photo op with her. She arrived back at her spot about 5 minutes after we got in line and we saw her maybe 5 minutes later. The photopass photographer who had just done our magic shots was apparently Daisy's photopass photographer so we got a new set of photos with a duck. The kids all loved seeing Daisy. Daisy was both minion 1 and minion 2's favorite character on their first park trip, I guess it was something to do with only being 5 and 7 months, but she also was great even at 6 1/2 and 8 1/2.

daisy.jpg

After our visit with Daisy we continued on our way to Test Track. On the way I noticed a small snack stand with cinnamon glazed almonds. So while everyone else moved ahead I stopped and got a bag. These were an awesome choice. They were the perfect size for a small snack for everyone. All the minions plus attriel and I enjoyed them. We bought them at least once more on the trip, because they were the perfect small sharing snack.
nuts.jpg

I then found everyone and we headed to Test Track for our FP+. At this point only Minion 1 and I had ridden. We also went through the single rider line so we hadn't experienced making a car yet. We all got in the FP+ line and were quickly queuing up for the make your car area. We all enjoyed making our car. Coming out of this area is a bit chaotic since all 4 lines of people are trying to get in front to go faster once the doors open to the second half of the queue. We were in line for a few minutes and then boarded our car. I like the changes they have made to this since our last visit in 2009. We all enjoyed the ride and the kids asked to go a second time. Looking at the time we figured we could do the 30 minutes standby and still be in time for our reservation for dinner so we headed back into line. There was no real line even though the sign had said 30 minutes and we were back in the queue to make our car shortly. We changed who sat with who this time. The first time I believe I had minion 2 and attriel had minions 1 and 3. This time I had minion 3 and attriel had minions 1 and 2. After going through the queue after making out car we were again in our car and racing our way through the track. After we were done we determined the ride takes about 30 minutes if there is no real wait, from entering the line to heading out.

tt_end.jpg

We did a quick bathroom break on our way out and headed towards the park entrance. We decided it was late enough that we needed to head out. It was only around 5:30, but I wasn't quite sure how long it would take us to drive to Contemporary for our 7:10 dinner. In my better early then late mind it was time to go. On our way out of the park we stopped and got pictures at the front of the globe.

As she was taking the picture the photopass person told us to get together and act like we knew each other. At which point in time a random person we did not know jumped into our pictures and acted like she knew us and then continued on her way. It caused both me and attriel to burst into laughter and amused us quite a bit. So here is our picture with our extra person in it :).
epcot_random_stranger.jpg

And here is the picture of us without our random stranger.
epcot_heading_out.jpg

We then walked back to the car and loaded up because it was time for dinner with Chef Mickey!

We arrived at the Contemporary at 6:15 for our 7:10 reservation, oops I guess we had a bit more time then I was thinking. Since we were there we stopped in the shop about bought a new Mickey Mouse backpack because we had determined that my bag I had brought for the park wasn't the best choice as our main bag. I then sat with various kids while they explored the other store there and the arcade. Around 6:50 we headed to check in. We checked in and were told we would have to wait probably till out time to be called. We were fine with that, since really there wasn't much we were going to do in the next 20 minutes anyways. We then got in line for the plate picture.

cm_front.jpg

Overall we met the characters, though I was only impressed with Goofy, and the good was mediocre at best. The kids had fun, but attriel and I decided that we were going with 1900 Park Fare for breakfast on Saturday rather then Chef Mickey's. We may go back, but probably only if the kids ask. There is more info in my dining report on the food and character interactions. We did have some fun with Minnie when she came and danced with the kids during the napkin spinning show thing. By that point though, we were just so unimpressed that it didn't do anything to change our mind about the restaurant.

After our meal we headed back to the room. The maid had straightened everything up. Our bathroom light was not working though. We decided that it wasn't something we wanted to deal with right then since we had a very early day planned tomorrow so we decided to wait to call about it until morning. The kids were in bed and asleep by 9. Both Minion 2 and 3 went to bed mostly dressed since we knew it would be an early day for them.

I then talked to my Mom for a few, told her that we were having fun and that no I couldn't add FP+ to her and my Dad's tickets for Saturday, because we had FP+ for all the days on their tickets already. This ended up being fine with her then and even better later, since they didn't end up doing EPCOT on that Saturday anyways.

Attriel and I then packed the park bags, cancelled our Chef Mickey's breakfast for Saturday and ordered our breakfast for the morning at Be Our Guest. I also apparently checked photopass and determined everything was there, so I guess I answered my question about Mary Poppins, no photopass photographer was there. Attriel and I were in bed and asleep by midnight. And thus ends our first day at the parks. Tomorrow is a long day, we try Disney transportation, we eat at BoG, the kids see the Magic Kingdom for the first time this trip!

Our EPCOT day was a great day and actually worked really well as our first park day. All the kids loved EPCOT and really enjoyed everything we did.

Love the extra person! So fun... It's only fun/funny since they got another picture with out her in it...:rotfl2:

Overall seems like a good day! Do you go back and get to finish up agent P?

:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao: Um... alright then! :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao::thumbsup2

:rolleyes2

Yep, we couldn't stop laughing. It put a great end to the day.

Yes, dealing with a trip for 15+ people was "fun". Actually it wasn't horrible, but everyone needing me to change things at time was a pain.

Love the extra person! So fun... It's only fun/funny since they got another picture with out her in it...:rotfl2:

Yep, we only got one family picture without her and 2 with her. I had hoped the photopass person had taken a few more, but I've noticed the exit time ones tended to take the minimum number of pictures they could.

We do go back and do a lot more with Perry. In fact we have an unplanned trip to EPCOT coming up, just for Perry.

I'm planning on working on photos tonight and I may get an update done. If I don't I probably won't update until Friday, Thursday is our out of the house all day, day.

So far behind! Playing catch-up!

Hahaha, I love the title of this!

That sight always makes my heart go thumpa-thumpa! :lovestruc

The lovely Disney bubble
I miss that bubble so much!

Attriel hauled lots of suitcases up the stairs, sorry about that
That's what husbands are for, right? :confused3

I showed my card and we were immediately sent to the line to be seated.
That Landry's Club card is like some sorta super secret VIP pass! I love it!

We were seated across from the T-Rex in a booth right as you enter the restaurant.

This was our view.
t_trex_big.jpg
Wow, ya'll DID get a great table! That's awesome!

I got a Cottontini based on a recent review I had read on @Elevationist 's dining report. I went with the Apple Cottontini, it was good, don't try it, just go straight to the tropical option (I learned that later in the trip).
I didn't even try the Apple one, which is surprising, since I love apple stuff. I went right for the Tropical Cottontini and it was sooooo tasty! I'm glad you tried both, though!

This is pretty much the most fun and amazing dessert EVER.

After we were done we had the leftover chocolate cake boxed
I ended up taking cake back to the room with me, too! SO MUCH FOOD.

I would like to go back at some point and explore the resort some, it seemed very nice.

CBR is definitely on my someday wishlist... I would love to lounge on that beach in the evenings!

Mickey Waffles for Breakfast
You have my attention!!! :D

I am not quite sure what happened to my hair in this future, but minion 1 and I had fun choosing our future.
se_future1.jpg
My last two times on Spaceship Earth, something similar happened! The auto-crop on that thing is NUTS!

we tried to get as many photopass pictures as we could, if we saw a free photopass person we almost always headed over unless we had a reason that we couldn't stop.
That's the way to do it, girl!

I then had 1 very upset child, because she realized she had almost gotten lost at EPCOT and 2 very relieved parents because she hadn't gotten lost at EPCOT.
Awww, the poor thing! I'm so glad ya'll noticed and caught her before she got too far away!

I looked at the poor closed Soarin' area and we headed to get lunch.
SO SAD!!! It'll be back soon though, thankfully!

After the show was over, which attriel had a nice nap during
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

We also got a magic shot.

Okay, now THAT is adorable!

BAHAHA!!! That is AWESOME! What a great story! What a fun lady! Now I want to go around Disney World randomly photobombing families! (Though I'm sure not all of them would find as much humor in it...)

Our EPCOT day was a great day and actually worked really well as our first park day. All the kids loved EPCOT and really enjoyed everything we did.
It sounds like it was a AWESOME first day! I love Epcot!

I LOVE the picture with the photo bomber :rotfl: Chris kept wanting to photo bomb peoples' pp pictures in Nov. but I wouldn't let him, I was afraid people would get mad. If we're ever down there when you are I'll tell him to find you and jump right in ;)

Yay Elevationist made it to my report! I've been waiting :). It was an awesome first day at Epcot!

The photo bomber was awesome. He can totally photo bomb us if we end up in the park at the same time again. Of course we won't likely be back until 2018. Okay attriel and I will likely be back for 1 day in August, just have to decide which park.

And I am totally hiding from the 110 photos I need to edit for our next day at Magic Kingdom. Apparently I have pictures.

I'm still editing photos. On the plus side I finally got photopass to find my last set of missing photos! My plan this weekend is to edit photos and post day 3.
