Wait list woes

I've been stalking my waitlist request...one day at Beach Club to avoid a move to BWV and back to BCV near the end of August. Checked a little later than normal this morning, and the entire week is available...except the one day I need!! I'm trying to convince myself I didn't miss it, someone on the waitlist ahead of me got it through the regular waitlist. Ugh!! Why did I sleep in?

If you have it set as a waitlist then it's possible that the waitlist grabbed it for you. It takes a manual process by MS to finish it so it could just be there waiting.

We're just using up points that will expire this year....airfare was high enough, without adding more $$ to it! I'm hoping more rooms at BCV become available the closer we get to 30 days. And if not, we love both resorts anyway.

It has to be processed by a CM once the system matches it. It can take days. If It were me, I’d call MS and ask if they see it…assuming the hold time is not too long!

I think there’s a solid chance you got it. You can ask if your waitlist has matched on chat. Let us know!

So, I called Member Services today, as I saw so many open days around my waitlisted BCV day in August. Sadly, our waitlist has not matched (yet). Crossing my fingers and toes it comes through. Member Services told me to grab it if I see it available, so I will be up early each morning checking!

Quick question from a newbie who is looking to rent some points or whatever you call it. Actually never new about DVC until about two days ago. So the time I've selected is pretty booked and everyone I've spoken to is already using their wait list options (which I 100% understand) but I just saw someone mention a cash room? What's that?

You can reserve a villa at a DVC resort through Disney like you would a regular hotel room and pay with a credit card (or gift card or cash or whatever) as opposed to using DVC points. Anyone can do this as long as Disney has availability and you are willing to pay their asking price. Paying without using DVC points = cash room.

DVC owners can call MS and sometimes book a DVC villa as a cash room for a 25% discount. However, it is off rack rate and not always available, so no savings over what might be available by booking directly with Disney for a trip.

But, if an owner is short of points and needs to complete a trip, that can sometimes be an option because when we book it via MS they can connect it to our DVC points reservations which can't happen if we booked directly with Disney.

Everyone--I got my waitlist!!! Thanks for all the positive thoughts. I saw availability on either side of my wait list request again this morning, but not the day I had waitlisted. Got the magical email this evening. Now, I need to link the 3 reservations together....is the chat feature ever available anymore? Every time I log on to the dvc website, that feature isn't available.

I believe I saw a mention of it being available as long as you hang out on the page for a bit. It magically shows up

Just stay logged in and toggle around the website. Chat will show up. Usually in less than 10 minutes!
