Leaving Saturday and were booked at SSR for five nights, but our wait list request for three days at BCV just cleared and now we're feeling totally unprepared. Need some quick help/advice about which two bedroom villas (or area of the resort) to request to stay in and any other special requests we should think about? We've never stayed before, so what's the one thing you wish someone had told you before you stayed at BCV for the first time!

Thanks everyone!

you're staying at a very nice resort at WDW. I'm not sure what you're expecting ? Make sure to bring a bathing suit and some sunscreen ?

you're going to have a great time, enjoy it :)

We are leaving for BCV on Saturday too. We love it here. We love the close proximity to the International Gateway in Epcot. DH likes to tell folks he can be in the UK, beer in hand, in 7 minutes or less from our Villa. Epcot is our favorite park and with our Park Hoppers, we wander over most evenings and we eat many dinners in the International restaurants in WS.
We also love the fact that we can boat or walk to the DHS. Walking access to 2 parks is wonderful. We have found the bus service to be fine to the other parks.
Storm Along Bay (SAB) is the best pool on property in my opinion. It seems like a littel water park. I think you will love it.
You should know before you arrive that there are no really special views at the BCV, like at other resorts. It is mainly woods. The Villas sit behind the BC and you can not see the lake or SAB. I would make a very generic request for example, lower floor, near elevator or that sort of thing.
You have the Boardwalk area a short walk away as well. It is fun to wander over in the evening and experience the entertainers on the Boardwalk.
You are within walking distance of many, many wonderful restaurants. YOu have all of the WS restarurants in Epcot, as well as the restaurants of the YC, BC the Swan, the Dolphin and the Boardwalk. It is an amazing area.
And you are going at a wonderful time in Epcot. It is the International Food & Wine festival. There will be about 26 International booths set up in World Showcase, in addition to the 11 permanent pavilions. You will be able to buy tapa size portions of their native foods, as well as sample local wines and beers. It is a great deal of fun to "Nosh around the World" during the festival.
Have a Great time

Thanks for all the great information...the BCV stay is a surprise birthday present for my wife who thinks we're at SSR for the whole week. My mother and our four year old daughter will also be with us, so walking to EPCOT/WS for dinner/etc. after our daughter is asleep (with Grandma watching her) will be a nice perk for us. Thanks again and enjoy your trip!

You will LOVE this resort and fall in love with the location, and the pool. My biggest tip is to utilize that fantastic room downstairs, in the lobby of the BCV. Its called the Drawing Room. Now I don't mean all the open space of the downstairs lobby, this is an enclosed room where there are doors to shut off the noise. You can use it for many reasons, but the one I love the most is our very last day. It is a GREAT place to just "hang" when you're waiting to go home on the Mag. Express bus and you have an hour or so to kill. There is a TV in there, and lots of places to sit. I love to put all our carry ons down, and just relax on the couch. Grab your refillable mugs, and go get a refreshing drink and just relax in there. So nice. And there's also a nice rest room right off the lobby too, great when you've already checked out. You kind of feel like you have a home, instead of waiting in the busy BC lobby.

I love the views of all the rooms of BCV! Especially the woods view or the courtyard view, watching all the people come and go. Have a great time, I know you will!

We leave for BCV Monday and I am beyond excited. We've never stayed DVC before, but have stayed at the BC 3 times. It's amazing!! The pool and proximity to Epcot are great!!

my wife still talks about the "water" view we had at BCV one time. It was of the quiet pool and the little canal with lights and sand. It was definitely better than most of the woods views many of the other rooms have. Highly recommend it!

Definitely, definitely take advantage of Food and Wine. If you are on the dining plan, most things count as a snack.
