Wait List Question

Has anyone else been on a wait list? We really want to go the weekend of Oct. 23-Oct. 27, but they have no Thursday or Sunday nights available so we are waitlisted for any studio that becomes available. Any advice?

I have more success than not on the waitlist. If you have made flight reservations I would look for a backup plan such as paying cash at a DVC resort or another Disney resort so you know you have a place to stay. Keep checking with Member Services occasionally because they may get one night and not the other so you are only changing rooms once. I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

I used to have great success with waitlisting, but since the policy changes I have absolutely no faith in their system. I have posted this elsewhere, but since you specifically asked about the waitlist, I thought you should know about my recent experience. The following took place between 8/5 - 8/20/2008.

To be brief, it took 12 phone calls to make a 5 day reservation at BWV at the 7-month mark. I started with a five day waitlist, booked one of the four nights after another call so moved to a four day waitlist, booked another night after five more calls so moved to a three day waitlist, and finally got the three nights after another six calls. However, I got those last three days by calling, not because my waitlist matched! I specifically verified that my waitlist was in place and was correct, but that it had not matched! I have NO faith in their waitlist system any longer and I strongly recommend babysitting your waitlist if you really want your reservation. Do not expect their waitlist system to work as promised and expected!

And, yes, I have reported it to DVC Member Satisfaction with no response to date!
