Just went on the wait list for BCV or BWV. Any thoughts as to how long it will take for points to come up? I would also be curious to have comments as to why the BCV is so popular other than the pool. Our only experience is with the BW and was very pleased...so why am I even considering BCV other than peer pressure?

3 words.....location, location, location!

We love SAB pool...the sand is so heavenly....but we also equally love being able to walk over to Epcot and the BWV and hop on a boat to MGM!

It is the best of all worlds for us.:cloud9:

That's a good question. Where is this "peer pressure" coming from?

If you don't like the laid back atmosphere of the BCV, the dynamic pool and the theming and decor, then I agree with your question as to why you are considering it?

On the other hand, if those appeal to you then you've answered your own question.

I think BCV and BWV are a tie as far as location goes. Both have easy access to two parks.

BWV has the Standard View for less points and a guaranteed Boardwalk View while BCV has no guaranteed views.

BCV is harder to book for owners of other DVC resorts because it is a small DVC resort compared to BWV. So overall it's easier for a BCV owner to book at BWV than it is for a BWV owner to book at BCV.

Good luck in your decision. I don't know what peer pressure you are feeling, but I'd ignore it completely. There are plenty of happy owners at both resorts so go with the one YOU like better! :)

We went on the waitlist for BWV points on April 29th and got the points on May 2nd. We got 40 points with a Dec UY. Hopefully you will have the same luck we did!!

When or if your room comes through on the waitlist depends on when you want to go.

BCV has dedicated 2 bedrooms which BWV does not. This is a big problem for us...extended family doesn't like sofa beds, so a 2 bedroom with only 1 Q in the 2nd bedroom only has 2 "real" beds as opposed to the ordinary (OKW, VWL, SSR, and soon to be built ALV) dedicated 2 bedrooms which have 2Q's in the second bedroom. We own at BWV. I was looking at accomodations before we bought and must admit I didn't realize what I was looking at...it didn't sink in about the "real" beds. Also, it's not me or DH who would be sleeping on the sofa beds, so maybe that contributed to our not noticing.:goodvibes

However, BCV only has about 25 dedicated 2 bedrooms with the 2 Q's, the rest of them (about 50) also have a sofa with the 1 Q.

So, for us, between BCV and BWV, the points of the standard view and the ability to book a Boardwalk view villa has over ridden my love of SAB. I'm sure my DGC will someday want to stay at BCV and enjoy SAB and I hope they get the opportunity to do that, but I don't anticipating buying BCV points.

I hope you decide which one YOU really want, and that you get the points soon!

We bought a 100 point resale contract at the Beach Club, then added on 80 points at the Boardwalk through Disney. We were only on the waiting list for the Boardwalk points about a week. We split our contract this way because we love both the Boardwalk (fun atmosphere, lower points for standard view) and the Beach Club (laid-back atmosphere, SAB-favorite pool in all of Disney). We'll be switching off every other year between the two resorts...Good luck with your decision-you really can't go wrong with either!

We did an add-on at the BCV last month. We purchased through DVC and it was immediate.

Good luck!
